Rosvold Farms is a family affair that raises children's ponies and Belted Galloway cattle. We love introducing kids to equines!

We have registered American Shetland ponies, a few registered AMHR & AMHA miniatures, and registered Pinto ponies. At Rosvold Farms we are striving to raise quality children's ponies. Our concept of the ideal children's pony is a pony with a friendly attitude, good conformation, and eye-catching color. Our foals are imprinted at birth and are handled regularly. We have a small group of broodmares,

allowing for more individual time and attention. We are always in the process of improving the quality of our mares and stallions. In the spring of 2022, we will be standing Rockin Painted Kino, Royal Bold Gold, and RHA Splash of Curry at stud to select mares in our breeding program. Rockin Painted Kino our National Sport Performance Pony Registered (Initially known as the National Show Pony Registry) and Pinto stallion produces some very nice foals with excellent dispositions. We also have the pleasure of now owning Royal Bold Gold, a classic Palomino Shetland/AMHR (37.5inches) stallion from the esteemed Royal Pony Farm. We also have a grandson of the Royal Pony Farm- RHA Splash of Curry who as a 2 year old was the 2011 National JR Champion Stallion Over & National Reserve Grand Champion Over. Just to mix things up a little more, we have added an AMHR/AMHA 32 3/4 inch tobiano stallion whose pedigree is quite impressive; DVM Paso's Smooth Criminalz. To keep things simpler this spring we only exposed 1 mare to Rockin Painted Kino last summer. Rosewall's Cinnamon Sugar blessed us with a splash white c**t on Mother's Day. Expecting this boy to be as sweet as his older brother Maple and mature around 12 hands.

Wrapped up the 2023 MN 4-H State Horse Show with ribbons in Hunt Seat Equitation for both girls!! L placed 5th out of 17 in 8th grade and T 2nd out of 6 in 6th grade!

Rosewall's Rockin Painted Walnut born May 18, 2023. Will be registered NSPPR and PtHA. This handsome c**t is sired by Rockin Painted Kino and has his sire's amazing temperament. His dam loves attention as well and has a calm disposition. Expect him to mature around 12 hands. He should be a fantastic riding or driving pony. His color is an added bonus to an already great pony!

Sharing a truly special pony today!! Twenty-six years and 52 weeks ago, a handsome sorrel tobiano pony c**t was born on our farm. He was sired by the incredible and amazing Rosewall Trigger and out of one of the smartest little ponies I've owned, Cheg Kim's Red Sunset, a registered classic Shetland mare. I named him Rosewall Shaq and sold him in 2000 just before he turned 4. Imagine my surprise when fall 2020, I was contacted by his current family and learned he was so loved, still being ridden, and had taught many many children to ride!! He is lovingly named Tigger and this past weekend he and his precious rider earned the honor of being the Georgia State Champions for pony English and Western pleasure!! Congratulations! 🎊 So happy and Trigger is a proud papa - yes, he is here at the age of 32!!

Rosewall's Rockin Painted Raya born May 15, 2023. Raya will be a large breeding stock registered Pinto pony mare. We expect her to mature around 13 hands. She is sired by Rockin Painted Kino our stallion who consistently sires great natured ponies. Kino is registered National Sport Performance Pony and Pinto - he is half Shetland and half Arabian. He is 12.2 hands tall. Raya is the first foal out of Namaari, a large pony mare we purchased as a 2 year old, she was reported to be a Shetland/Rocky Mountain cross. Namaari is well built mare standing about 13.2 hands. Raya is sharp looking pony filly white face marking, 3 tall socks that will stand out from her dark coat. Raya is friendly and started with halter training.

Pillager Fair is this weekend! Draft, pony, mini, donkey classes both halter and performance begins on Friday at 9am. Jumping classes after 4pm. Saturday stock and pleasure classes begin at 8am, followed by performance classes and then games. A few pictures from last year's show. We started the day early (3:30am) yesterday with a beautiful black Sabino c**t sired by RHA Splash of Curry and out of Plattes Irresistible! This beauty will be ASPC/AMHR/PtHA registered.

We hosted a 4-H meeting at the farm yesterday and a friend took this picture. Unknowingly, she captured a lot in this picture that is so special. First, of course front and center is Rockin Painted Kino our current primary sire. Kino turned 20 on Mother's Day this year, he is an amazing pony and we are so blessed for each year with him and the wonderful foals he has sired. Next is Lotty, a Belted Galloway calf. A misfortunate event led to our first bottle calf since changing our cattle herd over to Belted Galloways about 25 years ago, but the experience for the kids is irreplaceable. A bit further back to the left is Rosewall's Trigger. He was our very first pony sire and his hoof prints may be smaller than Kino's but he set a very high bar for Kino to follow. We retired Trigger from breeding in 1999 as we retained so many of his daughter's as they were exactly the type of mares needed to produce consistent children's ponies and he stepped right into his new role as a children's riding pony. Trigger is 32 this year! Finally to his right is Bay on Alex. She was the first foal born on our farm and in many ways the beginning of Rosvold Farms. That summer we purchased Trigger and our first couple pony mares. I was 14 and I often joke that I raised ponies because my parent's didn't want me handling a stallion larger than 500 pounds as a teen. Either way, I'm grateful that when I was smitten with raising a foal, the path that was started occurred. My family and I have been blessed with many many amazing relationships and connections because of the ponies opening those doors. Next year on May 30th, when Alex turns 30 we will all be celebrating 30 years of Rosvold Farms Pinto Ponies and Shetlands!

At six days old our first foal of the season is still sporting her wavy coat. She is such a pretty little filly.

Happy to welcome our second foal of the season! A beautiful black filly sired by Rockin Painted Kino and out of Namaari. She is so sweet like Kino's other foals and leggy. My guess is she'll mature around 13 hands.

Still playing catch up on sharing last year's foals. Hopefully we will finish before this year's start arriving! The next foal born last spring on May 20, 2022 was Rosewall's Rockin Painted Hazel. Sired by Rockin Painted Kino and out of Rosewall's Golden Buttercup. Hazel is a very nice sized pony with a super sweet and curious personality and she is happily living with her new family and very loved!
