Anyone wanna foster/adopt a little girl who just lost her human? Remaining kin folks wanted nothing to do with her and surrendered her to the shelter which means she could die at any moment!!!!

Her dog test went well she's just very nervous as expected!
We will help with her vetting needs!!!!

We in Cookies Country wish to take this time to thank you for your encouragement, help, dedication, and support.

It is because of your willingness to continue on this journey with us, we are able to do what we love to do at Cookies Canine Animal Rescue and Sanctuary.

To those pups we've lost this year, Iris, Sugi, please know your silence echos in the quiet moments, but your love will continue to guide me in the right direction.

2024 was filled with:

73 intakes

54 dogs furever homes were found

5 were transferred to our rescue partner Nelr Maine

2 were returned to owner

2 were helped to cross over the rainbow 🌈 Bridge.
1 was Stitch the frenchie and another was a owner in Columbus whose baby was suffering.

We lost 2 of our own pups this year, Sugi & Iris.

1 blind pup in foster.

Doesn't sound like alot but for this small backwoods rescue we managed to make it thru another year!!

We had a phone call come in yesterday by a very concerned lady.
She is needing help to find a home for a sweet blind 5 year old male named Athens.

Athens was basically abandoned.
Left to fend for himself especially being blind left the kind human all up in her feels.

She decided to bring him home and care for him, however, she needs help to do so while he's with her.

I have graciously offered to help him get into the vet for 4dx heartworm test, rabies a good exam and find out why this baby became blind within the last years. We know this because a neighbor told her.

He is very sweet with the resident pets, cats and dogs.
He has learned how to follow by scent and has no troubles going out in a fenced in yard to potty and knows right where to come back to the door.

This boy once had an owner that cared about him...but for whatever reasons he is not their priority anymore.

We are seeking a home or a foster home for this blind sweet boy.

We will work on getting him into the vet this week.

If anyone would be willing to give this boy a so deserving, loving home, I will put you in contact with his saving grace.

We are so happy that Mr Hector has been doing fabulous in his new home.
He even got to see Santa Paws with his new sister. 🐾 ❤️

I am so greatful to be a Sanctuary, because that's what saves these precious lives. No time frame, just to be able to live their lives and hope that one day they will be chosen to be part of a family. If not, we just spend our years together.

We could not provide Sanctuary services without you.
Yalls donations, monthly donations, birthday fundraisers, participating in our raffles and all of our adoptions allow me to continue this mission and I Thank ALL of you and all of our wonderful adopters!!

The Forgotten Dog's Christmas Story

Puppies are not gifts, they are a lifetime commitment!

Twas the night before Christmas
when all thru the house

Not a creature was stirring
not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that St. Nick soon would be there.

The children all nestled snug in their beds
With no thought of the dog filling their head.

And mom in her kerchief and I in my cap
Knew the dog was cold, but didn’t care about that.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash
Figuring the dog was free of his chain and into the trash.

The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow
gave the luster of mid-day to objects below.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But Santa Claus with his eyes full of tears.

He unchained the dog once so lively and quick
Last year’s Christmas present now painfully sick.

More rapid than eagles he called the dog’s name
and the dog ran to him despite all his pain.

Now Dasher, now Dancer, now Prancer and V***n
On Comet on Cupid on Donner and Blitzen.

To the top of the porch to the top of the wall
Let’s find this dog a home where he will be loved by all.

I knew in an instant there would be no gifts this year
For Santa had made one thing quite clear.

The gift of a dog is not just for the season
We had gotten the dog for all the wrong reasons.

In our haste to think of the kids a gift
There was one important thing we missed

A dog should be family, and cared for the same
You don’t give a gift, then put it on a chain.

And I heard him explain as he rode out of site,
“You weren’t given a gift, you were given a life.”

Looks like this may be our last save for 2024.

In the spirit and timing of Christmas, I've decided that this baby girls name should be...
Noel.

Noel found herself alone, scared and seeking refuge.
A nice lady picked her up in the middle of nowhere in Sylacuaga and searched for a potential owner.
No one came forward so the kind lady reached out for help.

Noel is approximately 6 weeks old and barely 5lbs.

Shes a very sweet and happy girl!

Sorry to disappoint, but we will NOT be at Tractor Supply tomorrow Saturday the 21st.

Temps are going to be friggid and I cannot and will not take the dogs out in 30° to 40° temps.
Their health is way more important.

Jagger from Russell County-Phenix City Animal Shelter & prong collar pup Buddy.

Jagger is a Dane Mix 90lbs.
Jagger was light heartworm positive coming in, however, he has received proheart shot and is fully vetted.
Sweet boy loves to ride and play!
Perfect pooch!

Buddy is a BOXER MIX, 40lbs. Heartworm negative and fully vetted!
He takes a bit to get acclimated to new environment and does have a fear of SOME men. IT was noted coming in he had some fear of men but has done well with several meetings at Tractor Supply

Best of friends 🧡
