We took on a new challenge this year by extending invites to some of our riders to take lesson horses to our local fun show at the Harrison County Fair. To say they had a fun is an understatement. They had loads of fun and did great too! Lots of ribbons won by our riders and even more memories made! I think it's safe to say that we'll be looking for some more fun shows around! Thank you to all the parents who came and helped and supported! We have the best kids because they have the best parents!!

And just like that, Summer Horse Camp at Stillwater Farm & Arena is in the books! A huge thank you goes to everyone who supported our camp and trusted us with your children, we do not take that lightly.

Countless laughs
And 73,000+ steps on my feet (and not on a horse’s)😵‍💫
I hope everyone had as much fun as we did!
If your little one didn’t get enough horses this week, we have spots in our lesson program open. Private lessons are 180/ month and group lessons are 140/month. Lessons last about an hour and a month consists of 4 lessons. Lessons are taught on a weekly basis.

Our second week of horse camp is now in the books! It was a big week with 10 campers! Our groups were split, so I didn’t get pics of the kiddos each day like I like.

Week 1 of our Summer Horse Camp is in the books!
We the dyed shirts, cleaned stalls, spread manure, learned about facial and leg markings and went on a nature scavenger hunt!
It’s truly been a great week. The kiddos were excited to show off what they’ve learned when they introduced themselves, their horses to their friends and family who came to see them in their final ride today.
A sincere thank you to all of the parents for entrusting your children to us this past week. We’ve enjoyed every minute with them!

Day 3 of Week 1 Horse Camp✔️
What a great day! Campers learned about the different colors of horses, parts of the bridle, and got to feel the difference between the walk, trot, and canter (a big thanks to Chelsey Smiley and Codie for letting us borrow Pixie!) Every single rider rose outside today and we even made it before the rain hit! We also learned about tricks that horses can learn and let campers ride from the laydown to the stand up! And… we met baby Richochet!!
We also made stick horses that the kiddos can use for the stick horse show at this year’s Harrison County Fair Horse Show!😉
We can’t wait to show our parents and grandparents what all we’ve learned tomorrow!

Day 2 of Week 1✔️
I didn’t get a single picture of kids today. I didn’t have pants with pockets so my phone was never with me 🤦‍♀️
Today was a day! Everyone got to go outside on their horses. One horse in particular gave a rider some trouble, but we’ll do better tomorrow! We played relay races on our horses and even learned what a barrel pattern is. Crafts today included genuine horseshoes that the kids got to decorate any way they chose! And of course some water blaster fight to end the day!

I didn’t get any pics of kids today, but I did however snap a pic of this beast of a bug on the porch this morning. And he’s a pic of my coffee cup from this morning. You know it’s a day when I don’t have a chance to finish my coffee . No wonder I’m wore out!

Day 1 of Week 1 ✔️
The kids enjoyed bringing in horses, grooming, tacking, riding, crafts, identifying parts of the saddle and the grooming tools we use. We also had relays where one camper was a horse holding the bit while
blindfolded while the other had to guide them through a simple obstacle. This helped the kids to understand what the horse feels when they pull on the reins when riding. We ended our day with some barn chores which included a race to see who could clean and bed stalls the quickest but still doing the best job. Finally, we had some water relay games. There should be some kiddos who are ready for bed early tonight!
