Helping Hounds Find Homes Inc. Helping Hounds Find Homes, Inc. was created to help unwanted pets find homes and rescue placement. We do this through transport.

is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to saving the lives of unwanted homeless animals. HHFH works with owners, shelters and humane agencies statewide to offer a unique option to animals that are adoptable but unable to find homes locally. Every week pictures of our animals are sent to rescue agencies in Chicago and Canada; these groups network with other no-kill shelters and fo

ster care parents to place the animals we have in Kentucky shelters. Once the animals are chosen, transport is then organized. As many as 100 dogs at a time are transported to Chicago or to the Canada pick up location to be taken to new homes. Several times a month animals are on the road to Chicago, Canada, and other locations. Hundreds of lives are saved per year. In an effort to save some of those who are not able to make the transport, multiple mobile adoption events occur throughout the year to place both shelter dogs and cats locally.

Due to Christmas Eve falling on 12/24, we are moving the Pet Food Pantry to Sunday, 12/22 so everyone can spend the holiday with their families.

❄️ EXTREME COLD ALERT — FREE STRAW AVAILABLE ❄️

To help keep your pets safe during the forecasted dangerously low temperatures, Helping Hounds is providing free straw for your dog or cat.

🐾 Limit: One bale per dog or cat
📍 Pickup Location: Ken’s Value Center — HWY 1034 / Lafferty Pike, Berry
🛒 How to Claim: Tell the cashier you’re picking up straw under the “Helping Hounds” tab
⏳ While supplies last

Straw is an excellent insulator and can help keep outdoor pets warm and dry during extreme winter weather. Please plan ahead and protect your animals.

⚠️ Disclaimer: Helping Hounds reserves the right to refuse straw if we feel the program is being abused or used for purposes other than keeping dogs or cats warm during freezing temperatures.

Registration has closed. Everyone registered has been contacted with an assigned time slot. If you have not been contacted then your pet is NOT registered.

We are unable to accommodate walk-ins.

Directions for Saturday:

You will enter from Locust Street.
Proceed through the gate towards the building.
Stop at the covered walkway to door.

Remain in your vehicle.

Weather: Please monitor our page for weather related issues. While we do not anticipate the need to reschedule, we do not want to endanger our volunteers, veterinarian or pets.

Registration is limited to 125 pets on a first come served basis.

📣 We’ve added an additional vaccine clinic sponsored by Petco Love and Helping Hounds Find Homes Inc., a local animal rescue (HHFH).

🗓️This clinic requires all pets to be preregistered. Forms are available by messaging HHFH, email ([email protected]), or you can complete the form at 122 East Pike Street. Everyone will be given a 15 minute time slot to arrive at the clinic.

🐱Cats will receive free rabies and Feline 1-HCP vaccines.
🐶Dogs will receive free rabies and Canine DAPPv vaccines.
💉Microchips are available for $12.
