We had the best kitty cat yesterday.😻😸 Ketamine came in for an injury in his left eye. We did an eye test that confirmed he did not have an eye ulcer. We provided eye medication to go home, and the "best cuddler" certification ❤️

💋 kiss kiss💋 Benjie came in to see us because he was vomiting. After a head to tail exam, we were able to provide some medical management with an anti-nausea injection, fluids for hydration, and medication to go home.
He will follow up with his primary veterinarian for further diagnostics

Ares the Great Dane and Prometheus the Belgian Malinois both came in with ear infections. After running an ear cytology, we sent them home with the right medications to get those ears feeling better in no time! 💙

Did you know grapes can be toxic for dogs? Stella, a sweet Pomeranian, found this out the hard way. Thankfully, her pet parents acted fast and brought her to UrgentVet. We induced vomiting to safely get the grape out and kept her comfortable afterward. 💙

Snowball came in because he was not feeling well. After some diagnostics, the doctor concluded that he had an abscess on his abdomen. We were able to get that cleaned out and gave him some medications to help him feel better, which also included some Churu as a special treat. He thoroughly enjoyed the treat, as you can see. We hope you feel better, Snowball! 🐈😻🐾🥰

Pet Tip Friday! Is it okay to let my cat out for the evening? At UrgentVet, we say no, and here’s why: Disappearance – Cats can go missing. Hit by a car – Night driving makes it harder to see cats. Predators – Many animals come out at night, and your cat could become prey. Illness & disease – Cats can come into contact with sick animals. Toxic ingestion – Outdoor cats may encounter poison or other animals that have ingested poison. Animal cruelty – Roaming cats may fall victim to abuse. If you suspect your cat has encountered any of these dangers while outdoors, come see us. We have the diagnostic tools to help unravel the mystery of what’s happened, so we can get them on the road to recovery. We’re here weekdays from 3 PM to 11 PM and weekends from 10 AM to 8 PM. Sophie is a very proper lady. She insisted that we hold her paw while she had her picture taken and of course we did! Sophie came in for some vomiting and an ear infection. We were able to get her some ear medications and something to help her upset stomach. We hope you're feeling better, Sophie!

With the heat still in full swing, remember that our furry friends feel it too! Walking your dog in hot weather can lead to heatstroke and other injuries. Here's why: Concrete and asphalt retain heat, making it much hotter for your pet, and these surfaces can burn their paw pads. When it’s above 80-85 degrees, it’s best to walk your dog in the early morning or at dusk. If that’s not possible, keep walks short and stay on the grass. Always provide plenty of water and watch for signs of heatstroke, such as excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, and confusion. If you notice any of these, bring your pet to us right away.

Athena came in to see us because she broke a nail 💅🏼. Despite her anxiety, she was really sweet thanks to our fear free techniques and calm approach.
We were able to safely remove the piece of nail that was still attached while she licked some peanut butter! We also sent home pain medicine and antibiotics ❣️❣️

💗 came to see us because he got into an altercation with his friend the westie, and a tooth was damaged in the process. Thankfully, we were able to extract the tooth and give him a lot of love and medicine to go home!

He very much enjoyed the warm blankets during sedation!
