Today we enjoyed having our Thanksgiving celebration with our work family! We hope all of you have a safe and wonderful holiday! We would love to see your pets pictures as they enjoy getting ready for their holiday!
Good evening, Longwood Family! Here is a brief update on the clinic. Today was a very busy day. We had a delivery of medical equipment today for our temporary buildings. Both are now here and plumbing work started today. We emptied the old building completely. Electric is going to take longer. Our entire service has to be replaced. Equipment will be delivered Monday to build decks for the trailers and to start rebuilding boarding. Timeline for reopening: clinical operations 10/13, boarding in limited capacity is looking last week of October. 48 hours before opening, our call center will start being able to schedule appointments, but we are waiting until then to give them the green light should we run into a complication that causes a delay. We miss our clients and patients dearly and hope you are all doing well.
Milo came to see Dr. Smith this morning for wellness care. During his Fear Free visit, cheese was an excellent distraction. We also incorporated small needles, catnip, a warm towel, Feliway, and a treat trail to help him feel comfortable here.
We are starting #fearfreefridays in order to share tips on how to make you and your pet's visit to the clinic more enjoyable. To kick off our #fearfreefridays we are sharing a video of Mist. Mist is a patient of ours that is fearful and anxious during veterinary visits. Mist's mom brings a tennis ball each visit so Mist can play fetch and focus on the ball during the exam and treatments. If your pet has any favorite toys or items that comfort them feel free to bring them to their visits.
