Hello Longwood friends!
It’s getting chilly out there 🥶❄️🧊 I’m sure we are all wondering how we can keep our little fluffy friends safe during the extra chilly days. Here are some tips and tricks! 🪵🔥
1: Be sure to provide your pet with plenty of warm bedding. Their fur does help them regulate, but it can only do so much. A sweater or a blanket can go a long way to keep them warm if things get exceptionally chilly🧣
2: If they have to go outside be sure you protect their feet. If you don’t want to stand there barefoot then they don’t either! You can use water proof socks, or pet shoes. 👟 if they don’t like that then be sure to keep contact with the cold (especially ice) to a minimum and wash their feet in case there is any salt on the ground ✨
3: You can set up an indoor bathroom space for your dogs if it’s too cold or if they refuse to go outside for their business. This will keep them safe and insure they aren’t holding it for too long. You can use a shallow box with artificial turf or sod 🚽
4: heating pads are cozy, but can also be dangerous. Check the warning label on your heating appliances to see the proper safety guidelines. Liquids or sneaky chewing can lead to electrical burns or even fatal accidents. Be warm, but be safe! 🕯️
Stay safe out there, friends! And be sure to give those babies lots of love from their friends at Longwood 💖
