We are certainly hoping this does not become a hurricane, but please remember to confirm that your horse has a current coggins NOW should you feel the need to evacuate.

Coggins results can take several days to get back, and while they may be temporarily waived for traveling, most barns still require them to stay for the duration of the storm.

🌀 ATTENTION BLUE SKIES CLIENTS 🌀

With hurricane season underway, this is your friendly reminder to make sure your horse is up to date on vaccines and has a current coggins should you need to evacuate.

While in the past coggins and health certificates have been temporarily waived to allow evacuation from major hurricanes, many of the facilities offering temporary stabling still require horses to be up to date with vaccines and coggins.

You can reach out to any of our veterinarians to get that scheduled if needed. Please keep in mind that results can take a week or so to get back.

Welcome to the Blue Skies team, Dr. Natalie Brooks! We are so excited to have you here!

Dr. Natalie was born and raised in Rogersville, a small town in East Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2020 where she got her bachelor’s degree in animal sciences and a minor in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences. She attended veterinary school at Lincoln Memorial University and graduated in 2024. Although she did not grow up in the horse world, she developed a love for horses and equine medicine during college while working at her large animal vet assistant job. Attending multiple equine practices during her clinical year solidified her love for equine medicine and ambulatory practice. Dr. Natalie's professional interests include preventative/wellness care, foal care, diagnostic imaging, and ruminant medicine. She is also interested in chiropractic and acupuncture medicine and hopes to gain certification in the future. When she's not working, she enjoys crocheting, hiking, biking, and reading at home with her two cats, Flynn and Tater. She is excited to explore the central Florida area and discover the beautiful nature and people!

Dr. Jess will be back to work next week! She will initially be working part time Monday and Friday, with a few other days added in sporadically (all pending childcare). She's looking forward to seeing all of her clients and patients again!
