Hoof Beet Farm is a diversifying horse-powered farm located just north of Dallas Center, Iowa. CSA shares, pastured poultry, eggs, herbs, and more!

Hoof Beet Farm is all about building sustainability through diversity. From the dozens of varieties of heirloom vegetables to the postage-stamp orchard and pastured poultry, the aim is to create an environment with many moving parts, all working in rhythm with one another. Each piece of the puzzle is important to completing the whole-farm picture. There's meaning behind the name, too. There are al

ready a few hooved residents on the farm, but there are plans to bring in draft animals over the next few years! My dream is to grow vegetables using horses or oxen, so rather than looking at upgrading the tractor, I'm looking at investing in animals and both new and old horse-drawn implements.
