Campers had a great time this week at our very first camp. They rode, daily, made hoof print molds and learned the hoof anatomy, painted Moons body parts, made shaving cream art, and much more. Including catching a fly for their scavenger hunt!

Sunday was another great day !

Aubrey made her show debut with Moon in a large ground pole division and had some really great rides. Their hard work paid off with a 5th place ribbon 🎀 She's already counting down to the next one!

Carter exceeded expectations with Arion placing in all of their over fences classes! Carter is doing an amazing job with Arion, helping him learn how to be a show horse. We are so excited about their future 💚🤍💚

We are so excited to welcome 🐞Lady🐞 to the barn!

Lady is a recently adopted 20 year old Arabian mare who is here to uncover what she may or may not know, as well as help her owner gain confidence in the saddle. We hope to develope the two into a trail riding duo. We also hope to give Lady the confidence to pony around kids and grandkids l, which is the most important job of all 💕

✂️✂️Clipping season is upon us!✂️✂️

As temperatures fluctuate between winter and summer here in Texas, it can be difficult to keep horses comfortable during and after workouts! A great way to make it easier is a body clip. There are so many options from just a little trim, too let's take it all off!

Moon, for example, usually rocks an 🍀Irish clip🍀 with an added belly patch for his girth. Moon has always been sensitive to girth rubs, so the extra patch gives him a little more protection.

Lessons with friends are the best!

While we like individual lessons to develop each rider as they need, group rides are also very important to rider development. They help riders develop ring etiquette, a good eye by watching others and they are always lots of fun😁

We had an AMAZING day at the Lone Star Arabian Horse Club open show today! Horses and riders all shined today and showed off all their hard work 🌟

Kaison and Ember rocked the show in the two cutest classes, leadline and walk/whoa! They both came home with medals and beautiful ribbons

Rylie and Maxxton really stepped up their halter game today and come home with Reserve Champion Arabian and then put on a ☆fancy☆ performane in liberty! Afterwards Rylie and Moon won their sport horse undersaddle with a lovely ride.

Ashley and Sally made their show debut 🎉 and were outstanding! Ashley and Sally placed in every class they entered and even brought home a BLUE for one of their rides 💙

Carter and Moon showed up and showed out earning a Championship to add to their growing collection! They are growing so much as a pair and really cleaning up their rides. 🏆

Kimberly had a HUGE day competing in her first ridden show. She was all nerves going in and all smiles coming out! Kimberly and Sebastián placed an outstanding second in a large class their first in the ring. They handled their large classes like seasoned pros!

A shout out to the outstanding parents that have given me the opportunity to coach and grow your children as well as allowing me to boss you all around a little here and there 😅 You are appreciated!!

Thank you for allowing our show team to take over your lobby today! The riders of Emerald Equestrian Show Team had a very successful fundraiser today and cannot wait until we get to do it again.

One week from today, the youth riders of Emerald Equestrian will be set up in Decatur selling homemade treats for you, your horse's and your dogs! So please stop by for your sweet fix and maybe even a little shopping.

Moon had a vet visit today. That alone would not be anything out of the ordinary, he was there just last week getting his teeth floated and Coggins pulled. But today was different, Moon got hock injections. This is also not out of the ordinary afterall most owners would be thrilled to have made it to 24 without needing anything more than a good joint supplement, and don't get me wrong, I am thrilled. But today also made me stop and think about how Moon is aging. I thought about how there will come a day when he no longer runs to the gate to greet me but rather ambles up slow and steady. One day, he will no longer be teaching the next generation of riders. Instead, he will be nearby grazing a pasture enjoying retirement. When you were there for their first breathe, it makes that whole getting old thing just a little bit harder. I am grateful for the many years I have gotten and I look forward to continuing to help Moon age gracefully, comfortably and happy, it's the least I can do for a horse who has done so much for me. 💚

Learning to ride a horse doesn't always include riding a horse! 🤪
Emma worked on feeling how our body weight shifts in the saddle to help guide our horses. After feeling it on the ground, she was able to get beautiful lead changes in the saddle 🐎

Meet Whiskey, one of my newest friends 😊 Whiskey has trouble picking up his feet to be cleaned and for the farrier, he doesn't believe he can still stand on three legs 😅

However, Whiskey is also very smart and learns quickly! After only three sessions he stood quietly for all four feet to be picked up and cleaned out. 😁

I am so thrilled with his progress and to be able to help him become a better companion for his wonderful family. ❤️

One of the best things about working with so many different horses is getting to know each one's personality. Few things hold more personality than the Arabians eye, full of love, wonder and confidence.
