Howdy! 🤠 My name is Howdy, and I’m a 2-year-old neutered male English Springer Spaniel. I’m currently living in Kennesaw, GA, but don’t worry—transportation can be arranged within a three-hour radius if you decide to bring me home.
I’m a bundle of energy and would thrive in a home where I can participate in dog sports. Whether it’s agility, dock diving, scent work, or barn hunt, I’m ready to learn and grow with you!
I love hiking and just being with my handler, and I’m always up for some playtime with my jolly ball. I’m very food motivated and eager to please, making training sessions a lot of fun.
I’ve been evaluated by Emily and Christina, and I’ve completed two board and train programs, so I have a solid obedience foundation. My best command is “place,” and I also know come, sit, down, heel, wait, free, and middle. I have great leash manners and am trained on an e-collar, prong collar, and muzzle.
I’ve had some interactions with other dogs, but I’ve had a couple of incidents that make my fosters believe I’d do best in a home where I’m the only dog.
While I do enjoy being around other dogs and can be neutral, I sometimes have issues with resource guarding, particularly with food.
I’m crate trained and settle well in my crate, although I might get a bit whiny from FOMO. I also settle well outside the crate, especially on my place cot. I would do best in a home where I’m the only dog so I can get all the love and attention I crave without any issues.
I do get car sick, but I do well on Cerenia (with a vet’s prescription). I also need to be muzzled at the vet and groomer.

After that point, it is normal for dogs to become less playful, more selective, and less tolerant regarding many aspects of interactions and play with other dogs.

SSDT Pack Member 🍑 “Trooper” Trooper is one of my current “Sweet Pea” Basic B&T students! He had his first outing yesterday and really enjoyed himself! 🌞 Trooper is an 8 month old Treeing Walker Coonhound. He is a big ol’ sassy hound-y boy. Sugar had her first outing last night! We met up with a couple of friends and just hung out! With this being her first outing, my goal for this trip was just to see where our training is at. I kept my expectations low and I only wanted to see her sit, hold position, and simply engage with me! Sugar can be reactive towards dogs, so this was such positive exposure for her.
