Another amazing graduate over the weekend! Meet Re*****on (Remmy) who is just over a year old Dane! Remmy's family is a repeat handler having allowed me to train their first pup Rascal.

We worked on basic obedience, leash manners, and home manners. Remmy learned early on he could use his size to get his way. As we worked in a training plan, a 2nd for Frontline Canine Training and Consulting. We learned Remmy responded best to clicker training. Remmy was able to complete the obedience course off leash, boosting his handlers confidence.

More and more graduates, it's so awesome to see how each pup is progressing in their training. Trying to keep up has been a bit tricky, getting caught up in the success.

Would love to introduce you to Chevelle! Chev was a super awesome dog to work with. Hyper, spunky, and squeaky. We were able to help her find constructive ways to release her energy, not bark/squeak so much, and just love life!

Sammy and Stallone were two amazing dogs to work with. Sammy also needed a way to control his energy. When the Sheldon family would try to go for walks, it became tricky and discouraging. We worked on good manners, obedience, and consistency! Now, the two dogs get alone. They love walks in the neighborhood. The Sheldon family has the tools to keep training.

Gordo was a mystery. The Wilburn family was worried about Gordo reacting to strangers and other dogs. Gordo needed to learn manners and socialization skills to be in public. It was so awesome to watch the Wilburn family take Gordo on a walk off lead, for the first time, in a public park. Awesome job.

Excellent article on the signs and effects of heat illnesses with dogs. Tips and tricks on how to keep them cool and what to watch for. Don't pour water over them, rather give them cool water to drink and to stand in. Plenty of shade.

According to an analysis of five years' worth of Google Trends data, the search term 'how to cool down a dog' traditionally sees significant spikes during the month of July, though searches start to increase as early as May. Such searches have been most popular in states like California, Texas, and....

Keep your pups cool in the heat. Just cancelled training sessions for today.

Learn the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Carry water with you. Listen to your dog if you're outside!

I sit here looking at the many dogs I've had the privilege of working with, organizations like Pure Mutts Rescue and Sacred Pawz, and realizing Frontline Canine Training and Consulting turns five this year. Who knew in that time, thousands of training hours have been completed, lives and relationships between dog and handlers changed, and new friends made. Thank you everyone.

I remember one of the first dogs I worked with Danil Gavrikov and his wife with R***r, Sarah Lou and Rudy, Daniel and Hannah, Steven and Bandit, Autumn and Jason with Rascal and Remmy. So many more! Here is for some amazing years behind us, and here is to many more going forward!

Good day to all! It has been awhile since we've had a post, but that doesn't mean the work has stopped! Want to introduce you to the Donaldson family and Enzo, our latest graduate!

Enzo was an amazing pup to work with. When I first met Enzo, he suffered from a lot of fear responses, overstimulation in public, and lack of control on a leash. The Donaldson family worked with other trainers, but still struggled taking Enzo in public. There was concerns of potential dog on dog reactions and just a overall nervousness. Enzo came to the family from a shelter as a rescue. He has scars on his legs and his behavior told a story of something bad happening while in the kennel or in his past. Enzo deserved better!

I have to say, the Donaldsons did not shy away from the work. We were able to find what motivated Enzo, created boundaries and allowed Enzo to dictate the speed at what we did. Enzo flourished! We were able to go outside and Enzo no longer negatively reacted to his environment. We were able to have dogs walk by and Enzo remained in control. The Donaldson family was able to reinforce positive behavior and had the proper tools to correct negative behavior. For the first time, Enzo graduated basic obedience! His graduation gift, a bucket of chuck its! 😆

Thank you all for the great opportunity to work with you and your sweet pup. It was so awesome to watch him grow!
