Friend Walk
Rex the Frenchie has been working hard to learn how to be calm around other dogs and make friends. 🐾🐾🐾
Recall
Madra practicing her Come When Called with Distractions. During this session we focused on staying with mom until released, even when the distraction sticks around.
Sharing is Caring
Luna the Frenchie, doesn’t like to share with her little sister Bubbles. This includes some of Luna’s favored people. Bubbles also has a tendency to throw herself into interactions with guests. Here we’re addressing both. Bubbles learning to settle near a guest, while Luna learns it pays to have her nearby. ❤️🐾❤️🐾
Recalls
Gilbert the Basset practicing his Come When Called away from his ultimate distraction. Bacon on a plate. 🥓🐾❤️
Door Manners
Luna has a history of charging out doors and making her presence known. We’re working on reinforcing some new alternative habits. 🐾❤️
Double Dog Skills
Coordinated Colors AND Loose Leash Walking. 💙💙💙
These girls are the cutest! 😍 We’ve been working hard on being able to walk quietly around the neighborhood. 🐾🐾🐾
Dog-Dog Reactivity
Noah the adolescent Aussie has big feelings about seeing dogs walking around the neighborhood. Each time Noah points out Dante, he gets some of his favorite treats in his snuffle mat. We started off with Dante further away, and gradually worked up to this distance. We’ll continue to decrease distance as Noah becomes more comfortable. 🐾💙💙
My favorite monochrome crew working on stationing on their rug when they hear the doorbell. 🖤🤍🐾
Wait at the Door
Otis and Mack have a history of disagreeing on who should get to go through the door first. We’re working on waiting patiently until released. When working on group behaviors, it’s best to train the skills with the dogs separately. Next we’ll be proofing our individual releases, with lots of reinforcement history for patiently waiting. Finally we’ll carefully bring the group together. 🐾💙🐾💙
Polite Greetings
Polite Greetings are hard when you are a baby Mini Aussie who has never met a stranger! Switzer is working with mannequins for a low pressure practice opportunity. 🐾❤️
Remedial Socialization
Marley has progressed from one on one friend walks, to a group walk. He’s navigating the different social situations thrown at him like a pro. He’s able to handle Marcy’s enthusiastic zooming, share a sniff with Dante and remain calm while Elric does some rollies. Way to go Marley! 🐾💙
