Join us in welcoming Dr. Mikayla Joiner to the team!✨
Dr. Joiner has always had a soft spot for animals—whether it was sneaking treats to the family dog or stopping to greet every cat she passed. That lifelong love, combined with a passion for science and medicine, eventually led her to pursue veterinary school at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Originally from Irving, Texas, Dr. Joiner began working in veterinary clinics during high school and quickly realized she had found her calling. She loves connecting with both pets and their people, and finds joy in being a part of each animal’s journey from their juvenile through their golden years.
Her professional interests include internal medicine, client education, and soft tissue surgery. She especially enjoys helping anxious pets feel more comfortable during their visits and being a trusted resource for pet parents.
At home, Dr. Joiner shares her life with two cats and a dog who happily keep her on her toes. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys running or walking with her dog, cozying up with a good book and some coffee, and catching live music whenever she gets the chance.
Dr. Joiner is excited to join the Summertree team and looks forward to serving the pets (and people!) in this wonderful community.🐾
