At Always Faithful we teach dog owners to say commands once. Repeating commands can confuse the dog or make them think the command is actually "sit, sit, sit, sit"...instead of just "sit".
Most dog breeds can hear things at least 1/4 mile away. Your dog almost certainly heard you say it the first time 🙂

The handsome dog next to his human mom is Finn. He is a 3yo Great Pyrenees and he is a very sweet dog. Finn came from living in a home with a large yard to an apartment. He and his mom needed guidance to have him live peacefully in an apartment environment. He is doing so much better now. Good job to both of them for putting in the work. Finn is our newest graduate. This handsome Golden Retriever puppy is Rylo. He is 4 months old and graduated his obedience training today. Rylo is a very sweet pup that took to his training like a champ. His human dad is a first-time dog owner and was very receptive to learning how to train Rylo. Great job to you both for working hard on the training. Congratulations Rylo!
Here's a breed I don't hear about in Dallas, Coton de Tulear. We don't have just one, but two that graduated today. These two handsome boys are 2 years old, and they live with a third Coton de Tulear, a 10-year-old named Bella. Chubby is the black one, and Cooper is the white one. They both did well on their training, and their owner pictured with them, did great taking leadership and working with them. They are such sweet loving dogs, and it was a joy to work with them. Congratulations Chubby and Cooper!
Today's graduate is a 1 1/2-year-old Pomeranian named Lexi. She is a sweet dog that needed some guidance with house rules and obedience. With our training for her and her humans, she is doing a lot better. Lexi's parents are so proud of what she has learned during the last few weeks. There is harmony in the house and on walks. Does anyone know the Disney movie Togo? Togo was a Siberian Husky sled dog who led the 1925 serum run to the town of Nome, Alaska. What does this have to do with this picture? This handsome pup is Togo, and he was named after the that sled dog. Togo is a Siberian Husky, and he just turned 4 months old. Today, Togo graduates his obedience training. His parents are first time dog owners and wanted to have Togo get on the right path to obedience. They are doing great with his training. Congratulation Togo!
With her human, we have a beautiful girl name Luna. She is a German Shepherd/Husky mix that is 9 months old. Luna is a sweet girl that needed some guidance to be a well behaved up. She has learned a lot these past few weeks. Congratulations Luna!

Isn't this a beautiful family? In the AFDT bandana is Litzy, and she is a 4yo Chihuahua mix. She is a rescue dog that came into this home two years ago. Litzy has been taught her basic obedience and is doing a lot better in the home. Congratulations Litzy!
With Litzy is Dottie. Dottie is a Shih Tzu/Dalmation mix that is 12-13 years old and has been in this home for years. She is already a good girl and didn't need training. With them are their humans that learned a lot also. Great job! They provide a very happy home for these two doggies.
This handsome Shih Tzu is Mochi. He is 3 years old and has graduated his obedience training. Mochi used to be in charge of his home, but the tables have turned. His human momma is now in charge. He is a sweet boy that just needed some guidance. Now he is a better-behaved boy. Congratulations Mochi!

The above is from the song El Paso by Marty Robbins, released in 1959. What does this have to do with my post? Well, the below pup's name is Felina, and she was named from the lyrics of that song. Felina, a German Shepherd, turns 13 weeks old today and she has passed her obedience training. She is with a wonderful couple that has had multiple German Shepherds in the past, and they are doing great with her. Felina has recently taken a liking to swimming in their pool. Congratulations Felina! You are a sweet girl.
