Seriously???? Went to Vernon’s last night. 2:30am I hear kitten crying coming from the garage. After 3 hours of trying to coax our little hitchhiker out of the undercarriage of our car, I finally learned how to remove the liner from the frunk. I guess this one will be named Verna June. Please people - if you feed them please get them trapped and fixed!

We took 10 kitties to Burleson yesterday for spay/neuter. This was just the warm up act for our 100 cat spay/neuter day Saturday. Keep our kitties, trappers, volunteers, and vet in your thoughts and prayers. It’s exhausting and so very worthwhile.

Last week when we were trapping cats for our big spay/neuter day, we came across this kitty who needs more help than we can afford. If you can help, we would greatly appreciate it!

If you have an Amazon Prime Business Account and would like to help us out, there is a sale on Cat Traps that appears to only be available for business accounts. Havahart 1079SR that usually costs over $80 are on sale for $12.88 + tax. But, they limit the number anyone can buy to 3 traps and I've already bought my limit.

Please don't buy if the price is $80 which is what comes up for non-business accounts. I'll post when they go on sale for non-business accounts.

For the price of a super-sized meal at a fast food restaurant, would you be willing to buy us a trap and have it sent as a gift? If so, you can send it to:

Feral and Community Cat Trappers needed!

Calling all trapping volunteers!

Whether you are an expert trapper or ready to be a trapper in training, we need your help!

There are a number of colonies around the lake that are large and elderly caregivers need assistance to get them trapped and to/from the vet clinics for spay and neuter.

It is so important to get as many of these cats sterilized so the populations can be humanely controlled!

If anyone is able to help, please email us at [email protected]

Please open your wallets to support Feral Friends Community Cat Alliance. Last week, they partnered with Adopt a Barn Cat and All About Fixin' to spay and neuter almost 60 cats around Cedar Creek Lake and Athens Tx. We explained we were trying to help homeowners who were feeding anywhere from 6 - 40 stray and roaming cats and their populations were multiplying. Feral Friends Community Cat Alliance didn't look the other way. They said YES. PLEASE don't scroll without helping them top up their funds.

Please consider using some of your Black Friday savings to help us provide a second chance for feral and other cats who are not living in safe conditions. We began Adopt a Barn Cat in January of 2023. In eleven months, we have relocated over 150 cats from shelters and unsafe situationsinto barns and other safe locations.

Sadly, we still have 152 cats on our waiting list. Some of these have elderly colony caretakers who have become overwhelmed by unchecked reproduction. Some need our help to Trap/Neuter/Vaccinate/Return (TNVR) their colony. Others have neighbors threatening their cats and even them so need our help to TNV then relocate the cats.

Starting today, Giving Tuesday, through the end of the year, our goal is to raise $2,000.

We are small but mighty. Will you help?

We need live traps to help with TNVR for a large colony. Do any of our friends have a live trap in their garage that they might be willing to loan or donate to us? We are outside the DFW Tx area at Cedar Creek Lake. Thanks in advance!

Today, we also placed Lela and Kitty Kitty as backyard buddies. After a few weeks getting used to the sights, sounds, and smells of their new home they’ll be guarding the chicken feed and being companions for their new human siblings. The homeowner got this great feral cat house which will be complete with heating mat. We incorporated it into the acclimation crate so it should get lots of use after kitties are released

Today we placed Pumpkin, previously Tiger with such a sweet family. We generally place cats in barns, backyards, and businesses but we’re helping relocate a large colony that included a few friendly kitties. Pumpkin will take some time to adjust to his new home. Right now he is still doing his best Impression of statue. Sweet boy!

It’s hard for a new non-profit to get off the ground and so great when established organizations lend a hand. Fortunately and unfortunately that’s what happened last week. We used the van from the Humane Society and I backed into a gate. Fixing the back bumper and door will cost approximately $3,000. If I’ve helped you get cats spayed/neutered, removed from your property or placed on your property, please donate. Any amount will help!

A huge Thank You to Jim and Rennie Scott Elliott and the Cedar Creek Lake Parrot Head Club. In their usual Party With a Purpose style, they held a Stray Change for Stray Cats fundraiser and supply drive party. We were humbled by $450 in stray change and over $400 in supplies. Y’all rock!

Fudge, Caramel, and Oreo have been on a non-stop adventure for their first nine weeks. They were born in a boat to feral parents. Fudge made it out of the boat and into Beth Massey Clampitt’s garage. Beth did a great job trapping mom, dad, and the two boat babies. Fudge was missing for days before she was finally able to catch him - hungry and ghost pepper spicy. Now mom and dad are spayed/neutered and back in their neighborhood providing pest control but no more kittens. We worked to socialize the kittens and now they’re headed to their new furever homes in Nova Scotia, Canada.

These cuties were born to a spicy momma but Awana took such good care of them that they are as just as sweet as Tupelo Honey. Momma is taking her Last Litter Pledge this week and these kiddos took a flight up to Nova Scotia Canada early this morning. Snip Snip Hooray

After getting acclimated on their new front porch, these three will have the run of this beautiful property. There new mom plans to sit out on the porch and talk to them every morning and evening

Bebe is a super shy 2 yr old female looking for a new home. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. She’ll do best in a home where she can be an indoor/outdoor kitty. She’ll be happy to keep your place clear of mice etc but she’s been living indoors for a year so isn’t suited to barn living. Perhaps a shop or warehouse. Let’s chat about options.

Today we placed Morgan, now Ginger, with the sweetest family. Ginger came from our friends at Noah’s Paws Animal Rescue. She investigated her acclimation kennel and decided she liked the kitty hammock. She settled into the hammock where she had a comfy spot to check out her new garage apartment.

This weekend Odin and Sage moved into their acclimation crate where they’ll spend 3 weeks getting accustomed to the scents and sights in their new home. They immediately hopped together into their hide box so I didn’t get their photos. Here are a few of goats whose barn they’ll be sharing.

Adopt a Barn Cat sets up acclimation crates in your barn or warehouse. Your new team of critter controllers will spend their first 2-3 weeks living in this crate where they'll become familiar with the sights and smells of their new home. After a few weeks, you'll open the crate so they can investigate their new digs up close. You'll continue to place their food in the crate for another week or so before taking the crate away. We provide the crate, litter box, food, litter and other supplies during the acclimation period and will return to pick them up once your kitties are ready. Message us for more information.
