Come along as we build a puppy pen for an 8 week old puppy! The client that adopted this sweet girl has also requested a video of a setup that she could replicate in her own home to ensure that her baby is comfortable and safe as she incorporates into her new family and home. This setup would be ideal for a small puppy that is barely learning boundaries. Each part of this dynamic setting has been carefully thought of to serve the purpose of facilitating training in a new environment as well as setting up good behaviors from the beginning 🤍☁️🌙🩰🫐 If you’ve adopted a pup, and need some help with the care of your baby, please feel free to reach out and request a video tutorial of how we approach certain aspects of day to day life with your new best friend! • • • The components you see us add in this pen are very similar to the set up we set up for our older pups here in the nursery. For the last leg of their stay here (6-8 weeks old), the pups have a large gate with slats for visibility to the home. We design the pens to cater to each part of the curriculum that we teach here before they go home. We give the babies a large area to plan and run, but closed enough so even if they’re spread throughout the pen, they’ll still be near siblings. We also incorporate a small puppy kennel that remains open so they can begin associating an enclosed space with safety. At their own pace, they can explore being in and out of an enclosed area, and can also jump in to have peace from their siblings. Before the pups are vaccinated, we use a potty pad to begin teaching good potty habits. We move the potty pad to an out of the way part of the pen to keep their main area clean. As the pups learn to have more freedom, they instinctively work to keep their living area clean. This gives us the opportunity to send the pup home with basic potty training that can be easily transferred to their preferred potty area outside. Throughout their time here, our pups are exp
