VCA Central Expressway Animal Hospital is a veterinary facility based in Dallas, TX where your pet's health is our top priority and excellent service is our goal. We are closed the last Friday of each month between the hours of 11:30 AM-1:30 PM for a staff meeting.

Like all pets from the SPCA of Texas, Sammie has been spayed, microchipped and is up to date on all her vaccinations. She is at the Dallas Animal Care Center, so come by any day of the week between Noon and 6 p.m. to meet her.

Animals are available for adoption at both the SPCA Dallas Animal Care Center (2400 Lone Star Drive, 75212) and the Ellis County Animal Care Center (2570 FM Road 878 in Waxahachie, Texas).

It’s a New Year and time for you to find your New Best Friend! Pick your adoption price at both SPCA shelters from Monday January 13 through Friday, January 31, 2025. Adult dog and cat adoptions are free through Sunday, January 12th.

If they must be outside, ensure they have adequate shelter with protection from the wind and rain. A garage or laundry room are also warm options to protect them from the dangerous temperatures. Meet Viggen. She was recently adopted from the shelter. Her dad is working with her on separation anxiety. Here are some tips that may help you as well:

1. Exercise your dog before you leave
2. Give your dog a special treat or toy to occupy them.
3. Keep your routine unpredictable
4. Be calm during arrivals and departures. Do not teach your dog it is a “big deal” that your gone
5. Crate training is an acceptable solution, it can help them feel safe and comfortable.

Don’t give up, working to alleviate your dog’s anxiety takes time. We are always here if you need help!
