Join the SPCA of Texas this Sunday, June 9th for a free vaccine clinic from 8AM-12pm at The Myron K. Martin Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic, 2400 Lone Star Drive, Dallas, Texas, 75212. First-come, first served. Must be check in by 11:30AM or while vaccines last.

Vaccines included will be rabies and DHPP for dogs and FVRCP for cats. All dogs must be on a leash and all cats in carriers.

Vanessa has been volunteering with us since April of 2023.
“Vanessa’s dedication and diverse contributions are invaluable to our shelter. Her compassion, dedication, and multifaceted skills make her an outstanding candidate for Volunteer of the Month. Thank you, Vanessa, for your incredible impact at both of our Dallas shelters and the countless animals you’ve touched!”

We asked her what she wants people to know about Belle-Belle?
"Belle-Belle came from a rough start, so it takes her a little time (and yummy treats) to trust you[...] I want everyone to know that the Belle-Belle you first meet is her shield. Give her a little time and patience. Because the love she shares with you will make you feel like a one-of-a-kind superhero, and the type of bond you share, might be that 'once-in-a-lifetime' kind."

We also wanted to know something she wished people knew about volunteering at the SPCA of Texas?
"It can be life changing, not only for the people you encounter, the animals you help, but also for yourself. And that's a wonderful thing. When you meet the staff and witness all that they do, you can't help but be inspired to do more. Being that close to a family of people, giving all they've got to better the lives of the animals and people that come through their doors-- its beyond rewarding to be a part of. Also, it's not always easy. There are some really tough days. But you've got to keep fighting, you've got to keep moving forward. Don't give up. Every contribution matters. Through highs and lows, the team is with you and what you do matters!"

🐾🤠 Howdy, y'all! My name is Vaca. I'm a sweet and shy vaquero disguised as a husky mix on a quest for my furever home. I've been traveling this dusty world for about 2.5 years now.

I love exploring new smells, and hanging out with my favorite people. I really love a good belly rub, and snuggling up for a nap.

👧 Since I'm a bit timid around new folks or loud noises, I'd like to meet any kids in my potential home to make sure they know to go slow with me.

🐕 🏡 My foster family says I'm the most well-behaved dog they've fostered! I walk great on a leash, love exploring new sights and smells, and did a fantastic job meeting new pups at White Rock Lake park. I'm friendly with humans and even enjoyed a pup cup at Petsmart!

Get your tissues ready for this one... it's a heartwarming reunion! 💖🐶

Shortly after Bear Bear was featured by one of our radio partners, we received an email from a kind nurse searching for the lost dog of her former patient. She mentioned the dog's name was Bear Bear, and he had arrived at the SPCA of Texas from Dallas Animal Services after being picked up at a motel.

Bear Bear's owner, a 37-year-old patient, had passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Two dedicated nurses who had cared for him were determined to find Bear Bear and give him a loving home since no one in the patient's family could take him in.

The nurse visited the shelter, reunited with this sweet dog, and promptly adopted him. We are overjoyed that Bear Bear has found such a loving furever home. 🏡💜

This touching story reminds us how important and comforting it is to reunite animals with familiar faces. 🐾🥰

Check out this adorable PUPDATE from Averi's family: 🐶💜

Averi has already learned several commands and sleeps in her bed beside her new parents all night. 😴🐾 Averi is loving her new furever home! 🏡 She’s explored and sniffed every inch of her new yard and made her peace with trash trucks (scary!) and squirrels.

She did great at her first vet check up and was declared healthy and, of course, adorable. 🥰

Unfortunately the “indestructible “ Kong stuffy did not survive Averi's fun-loving personality, but her new family has several new toys on the way! ✨

The SPCA of Texas is overjoyed that this little princess has found her furever palace in a home full of love! 👑💕

It can take some time for a dog to adjust to their new home, and we always encourage people to consider the 3-3-3 rule! Many dogs need 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to get used to their new routine, and 3 months to fully settle into a new home. The timeline can be different for each dog, but the results are totally worth it!

This adorable 1-year-old mixed breed is a medium-sized bundle of sunshine ready to fill your life with joy. 🌞 After a fun-filled day exploring the great outdoors, Rain dreams of cozy movie nights by your side. Rain's patiently waiting for a home where she can get lots of belly rubs!

✨ Rain recently went on a fun borrow-a-buddy! She hopped into the car without any problem and was so curious about her new surroundings. Rain got to explore Bishop Arts with her new pal. At Uptown’s Foxtrot, she enjoyed some puppy treats and settled down nicely. Many people stopped to give her head pats, and she loved it! Rain’s favorite part of the day was discovering ducks at Turtle Creek Park. She's a sweet girl who thrives on adventures and cuddle time.

Hi I'm Dan. I don't need much to make me smile - just a couple of treats and a best friend to share my days with!

I'm a 1.5 year old Labrador Retriever mix, who is ready to be your man! You won't have to worry about weather or not this is a situationship- I'll be upfront about my wants. Speaking of: A home full of love, a soft bed, and some tasty snacks sound good to me!

Just think about it. I am friendly, and loyal. You will always be my #1 (unless there's a jar of peanut butter in which case all bets are off). And, I promise to always make you smile when you need it most.

I'd love to meet my canine roommates before heading home but I think we could get along great!

Interested in fostering, but not sure where or how to start?

You're invited to join us at our Foster First Date! This afternoon will be full of fun, games, and learning all about our foster program, and how easy it is to get involved! Meet some pups, meet other foster parents, and learn how to help shelter dogs in need by fostering! Geared towards first time fosters with the SPCA of Texas - but anyone is welcome to join in!

Who can join in? Anyone! Invite your friends, invite your family, invite ANYONE who wants to be a part of this lifesaving effort! This event is open to old fosters or new.

What does the start of your summer need? How about a Borrow A Buddy? 🐾👀

Chance's foster family took him on a canine friendly camping trip last weekend! Not only was Chance on his best behavior but he also had a ton of fun!💜🌟

Chance got to meet other people and dogs on the trip and did fantastic!! He even fashion modeled his dog backpack! 🐶🎒

🐕🌟 Borrow-A-Buddy is a short-term foster program - (like a fun field trip for dogs)! It can be anything from an hour to a couple of days - We work with your schedule! It's a chance for the dogs to get a break from the shelter and explore somewhere new! 😁

Update! We had a special delivery from the STEAM crew at John Paul II High School and their awesome teachers! 🌟 They brought something special for our furry friends – a super fun mobile sensory garden and agility course for the dogs in our care! 🐾

🐶✨ Devin, Hank, and Chata were the first to explore the new course and they had a BLAST! 🥰💜

These talented students built a stair ramp for pups to practice their ups and downs, a cute tunnel for dogs to explore in, and a multi-level dog friendly herb garden! 🌼 The students went above an beyond making sure everything used was dog friendly! 🐶💕
