We need volunteers! Awwdoptable needs volunteers willing to come help us cuddle & socialize our cats, as well as, clean kennels. Do you have time that you could dedicate every week, 2 weeks or even once a month? We would appreciate it & you!

Can't volunteer? That's ok. We also need flannel material to make kennel pads and could use some transport help.

*Must be 18 years of age or have a parent with you at all times. Depending on requirements, we can be used for school credits.

We are in the West Plano PetSmart at 6204 W Park Blvd at the Tollroad.

It's an awwdoption event! This Saturday, Oct 26, from 10-4 we will be set up at the PetSmart in West Plano at 6204 W Park Blvd for a meet & greet awwdoption event! We will have the following babies, and more, available for same-day & pre-awwdoption. Please stop by to say hi and help some wonderful cats find homes!

Update: 3 days later. Still congested, but eyes no longer goopy (that’s just Teramycin salve that looks wet). She actually ate a little on her own! P**ped out a pile of worms but we finished our dewormer and coccidia prevention protocol this morning. She now purrs when she sees me and gives head boops.

Since she was pulled from the 7-Eleven colony, she needs a 7-Eleven name… but she’s tough, so I feel like she needs a street name.

Twinkle is as sweet as she is beautiful! Playful with toys and other cats, gentle with babies, and learning dogs. Rescued from the PVAS shelter in South TX, with ringworm and a mouth injury. After a few weeks of care, she is purrfect!

We saved big girl Candy yesterday from DAS. She’d been described as having a little bit of a ‘tude, but I quickly learned her hiss is how she says hello, while purring and making biscuits and bumping your leg with her head.
She is VERY talkative and opinionated, and can you even handle her little crooked ear and those EYES! 👀

I feel like she needs to go live with someone’s sassy Auntie or Meemaw, and just sit on the porch to complain about squirrels together. Know anyone for Candy??

Trying to find the good side of our roundest boi, Kaz is hard to do while lifting his 18 lb self!

Kaz is our longest tenant and also most asked-about cat, because of his chill, The Big Lebowski “The Dude abides” demeanor, with dogs, other cats, and all humans, but you know how it goes… everybody wants the teeny kittens, never the mountain lion…

It’s amazing what 15 minutes of flea combing can do for a mange baby… suddenly, our girl is purring, making biscuits, and has eyes!

Less positive update: she’s also pregnant… 😩. Fingers crossed we’ll have all the debris removed to be able to spay her by Friday. 😻🤞🏼

Awwdoptable has a saying: “We spay/neuter to prevent the ones we can, so we can afford to care for those we can’t.”

With our fantastic veterinary support partners Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP) and Spay Neuter Network (SNN), we try to prevent as many homeless litters as possible… but we can’t do it all. Our “chicken nuggets” litter was born in June from a porch cat in Oak Cliff, and Mama Mangeaux was kind enough to let us add an orphan who needed to nurse! Once the babies were weaned and big enough, TCAP’s and SNN’s low-cost sterilization and vaccination services were critical in getting our nuggets compliant for adoption (and now the whole family is waiting to meet you at PetSmart).

What happens when an elderly person living in an apartment goes to the hospital… but never comes back?

Why, the landlord and their family let their beloved pets out and abandon them, of course! 😾

It’s because of your donations today and every North Texas Giving Day that Awwdoptable is able to help abandoned senior cats like Grandpa Geri, who at an estimated 10-years-old, an eye injury, flea anemia, a Himalayan “smush face”, and unknown vaccination status required a full service vet with extensive pre-surgical bloodwork to accomplish his neuter.

Awwdoptable is in the need of new kennel mats for our PetSmart location. If you have any washable, plush flannel you no longer need & would like to donate it, we would greatly appreciate it! If you see any on sale, please let us know. We can get them sewn, although sewing help would be appreciated also. We need around 10-20 yards so we can make mats in 3 different sizes to fit our kennels. Please let us now of you need more info.

**EDIT: fabric can be brought to the West Plano PetSmart at Park & the Tollway. If that's not possible, let us know & we can work something out.**

***DETAILS: The 3 sizes needed are 27x28, 33.5x28 & 51.5x28. Mats need to be double sided to allow to be flipped. They must be washable for sanitary reasons.***
