Friends, this Saturday is Pawtoberfest. Held by City of Richardson Parks & Recreation! This event is from 10 am to 6 pm and will be fun for the WHOLE family, including your canine companions. You seriously won't want to miss all the activities available! Pappy's will even have special giveaways for current Pappy's customers.

💙 Time for another Pappy's Team Spotlight! 💙 This time we sat down with our North Plano manager and Pet Sitting Coordinator, Shauna! Shauna has worked at Pappy's since 2014. She began working for Pappy’s as a Pet Technician and has succeeded at every role at Pappy’s before becoming a manager. We got to ask her a couple questions about working at Pappy’s and being Pet Sitting Coordinator.

- What's your favorite "tail" to tell about a dog that's stayed with us at Pappy's?
There are way too many to tell, but my favorites would be how I got my dogs. Oreo was abandoned at Pappy's for three months and then when she was officially surrendered, I took her home. About a year later, I got Charlie. He was a client who I became very fond of. He was found on a shelter website by a staff member about a year after he started coming to us. I went and picked him up as soon as I could. They have both been with me ever since. They are my babies and I would have never met or got them if it wasn't for their stays at Pappy's.
- If you were a dog breed, which breed would you be and why?
I would have to choose a Siberian Husky, because they are energetic, sassy and just a whole lot of fun. A big plus is they are so freaking cute!
- What's your “muttivation” behind your passion for working with dogs?
Well, my first word was “dog” and I have been obsessed with dogs since I was little. It was obvious to me and my family, I was going to work with dogs in some capacity. Dogs are amazing and I feel like they are the other half of my soul.
- What's your secret recipe for creating a 'pawsitively' pampered environment for the furry guests?
Having an amazing team that goes above and beyond for the pets, they treat all of our guests like they are one of their own. We work hard to make the guests who come to Pappy’s as happy as they are with their families.
- What's one thing most people don't know about pet-sitting?
My sitters had to help me with this answer. We decided to spill the beans on our little secret- when it comes to pet sitting, we often end up spending more time with your pets than what owners officially book us for. While they might schedule a 20 or 30-minute visit, truth be told, we frequently find ourselves lingering for up to 45 minutes. Honestly, if we could, we’d probably stay all day! Our love for the pets we house sit knows no bounds.
- Tell us a bit about your pets.
My oldest is a Shih Tzu named Oreo. Her nickname is “Oza.” She is 7 years old and the biggest princess you could ever find. Next is my big baby boy Charlie, aka "Charles Barkley.” He is a 5 year old Staffy mix who is the best cuddle buddy around. Last but not least, there is Whiskey who is a 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix. Whiskey is technically my roommate's dog but is the energy of our household.
We loved sitting down with Shauna and learning more about her passion for Pappy’s. Shauna embodies the award winning standards we set for ourselves at Pappy’s.
It's ALMOST HERE! We're SO excited for Celebrate Roanoke this year. Happening this Saturday, October 14th from noon to 9:00 pm. Come visit us at the Pappy's table! We'll be near Sweet Pop and Soulfire Brewery. This festival will be fun for the WHOLE family. We hope to see you there!
This Saturday is Pet Fest in Town of Trophy Club from 9 am to 11 am! We hope to see you at this free and dog-friendly event. It's going to be a fun morning for the whole family, with a DJ and other activities for everyone to enjoy.

Paws in the Pool is an annual event that Pappy's attends and we love being a part of this family-friendly and fun event. There's no better way to end summer than with one final swim session! Keep an eye for this fun event next year! We hope to see you there.

Meet Madyson, manager of our South Plano enrichment center. Madyson has worked at our South Plano center since it opened in 2019. We sat down with her and asked her a few questions about working at Pappy's.
- What's your favorite "tail" to tell about working at Pappy's?
"I have a lot of stories because I've been working at Pappy's for years. But if I had to pick one, I like telling people about Lily and Kingston, two Aussies who stay with us. During one of their stays, they had the whole team laughing because instead of sleeping, we watched them on the we**ams play all night. They were playing so excitedly it looked like they were body slamming each other around!"
- If you were a dog breed, which breed would you be and why?
"I would definitely be a pug because, like pugs, I can be relaxed one second, then hyper the next. I also own a pug named Smalls."
- What's your "muttivation" behind your passion for working with pets?
"Their unconditional love is my motivation. It's what keeps me devoted to providing the best care possible at Pappy's."

Space etiquette is important in public settings! Doggie daycare is the best way for your dog to socialize in an environment where the dogs around are friendly.
