This particular horse has severe rotation in the distal limb and bony columns due to improper trimming and shoeing of the conformation of the horse. The horse has a severe case of white line and is also a medial sinker. Not all horses have the same confirmations and should be shod accordingly, meaning not all feet should be trimmed the same way.

A 2 yr old filly that had a club foot and check ligament surgery. The surgery was performed about a year ago but the filly was not shod prior to the surgery. As a result of not shoeing the horse correctly the surgery did not work out like the customer had hoped for. These types of surgeries do work but proper farriery needs to be done on the horse to have a positive outcome. Just trimming the heels every couple weeks doesn’t work!

Happy Friday!!
Grade 2.5 club foot that needed a little help. Horses aren’t made the way they were made 100 years ago so why would you shoe them the same way. You have to elevate you mind to elevate your thinking.

Before and after
This performance horse has been lame since last July with multiple issues but after reviewing X-rays and getting the history of the horse we formulated a plan for her and now she is @ 85% soundness. After a couple more shoeings I expect her to be back competing at the high level she was used to before the lameness.
