We have an update on Blue from his foster!

If you don’t already know, Blue was abandoned in an apartment after his owner was evicted and we found out that he is a very high heartworm positive. Vets are guarded on his prognosis, however his current foster has stated he has had much improvement the past couple of weeks! He has had little to no coughing with no blood now and is starting to act like a dog! This is the same dog that vets were suggesting to euthanize due to his severe case of heartworms, but after discussing it with his foster and the vets further…we decided to let Blue make that choice as he’s letting us know he wants to LIVE. Now look at him, it brings my heart so much joy to know he’s starting to feel better and play like a normal dog.

Blue still has a long road of healing ahead of him and our funds have been depleted. We desperately need more donations in order to continue doing what we do.

We desperately need fosters, if there ever was a time you felt the call to give back to the community and be a foster hero, now is the time. Take a look at the sweet faces that are sitting in a shelter waiting for a hero. You may have remembered us posting Smoki awhile back. Yep. She’s still sitting in the shelter waiting for her hero after her and Demi were left in a vacant home. Both are dog friendly and need a foster hero NOW.

❤️ Sweet Vinny has been with us a little while and is on the search for his forever home. After being abused and abandoned in an apartment, Vinny found himself looking for his forever family. He did great at this past weekend’s adoption event but seemed sad to see other pups head to their potential forever homes. When will it be his turn?

Vinny is about a year old, dog and kid friendly, potty trained, crate trained, and is just the best little guy! He is only about 30 pounds, pictures (and his head) make him look bigger than he actually is! He also has the SOFTEST fur!

👑How has Delilah not received one app yet? This petite princess is ready for a castle to call home, could that be you?

🐶 She is dog friendly, barks and chases cats but that’s the extent of it. Kids are unknown at this time. She will lay in your lap for hours and makes the perfect work from home companion. Don’t let her naps fool you though, this girl loves to play with toys and dogs her size! She’s okay with bigger dogs but gets intimidated easily.

Delilah is located just east of Dallas but adoptable in Texas.

Meet Delilah! 🐾

Delilah is a 3 year old chihuahua mix who found herself abandoned in an apartment community and into our rescue The Xena Project NTX! Delilah is a little princess and she knows it!

She does great with other dogs, is a little scared of big dogs but is doing great with my 4. She does bark at cats but that’s basically where it ends. Did I mention she has the CUTEST princess bark? It’s hard to take her seriously, honestly. She takes about a day to warm up to a new environment but really opens up when you show her some love.

Delilah is potty and crate trained, is not leash trained. She hates it actually and prefers to be carried everywhere. She is ready for and has an adoption fee of $250 to cover her expenses. She is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and Spayed.

We offer a 1 week home trial to adopt if you’d like to make sure Delilah is a good fit in the DFW area or you can go straight to the adoption if you’re already in love 😍

☀️ Summer is here and Vinny is ready to adventure with you! This active young guy is ready to join you and your family on your Summer trip, Fall trip, Win…well you get where I’m going with this 😅.

🐶 Vinny is ready for his forever home, he is a petite Pittie and we suspect Boston Terrier mix at only a year old. He is dog and kid friendly, cats unknown, crate trained, 98 % potty trained with consistency, and just an all around loveable good boy. I truly do not know why he hasn’t gotten an application in, I mean look at him!

Blue has his checkup tomorrow with the vet to hopefully find some progress with his HW treatment! His foster states he has good and bad days, almost no coughing now so we know the suppressant is working! His scans showed nodes all along his lungs, likely dead heartworms that are stuck to the organ and calloused over which is causing his coughing. He didn’t want to eat his amazing eggs bacon and kibble breakfast this morning that his mom made for him today so a little down.

We still desperately need donations for Blue. He has a long road ahead of him and we and the Banfield Lakewood vet team are doing everything we can for this boy. We cannot continue without our amazing supporters to help us along, we do not have any grants and are still very new and growing.

Max and Delilah photo dump 😍 as you can see they are adjusting to big dogs just fine! They do like to chase cats but are learning not to. They have picked two of my five cats to like so I’d say selectively cat friendly! Both are available for adoption and will be at this weekend’s adoption event at Stash's Table & Fable along with Vinny, our petite pittie mix. We may have some cats and kittens as well!

Wayne was not saved. Wayne was left in an apartment, then killed in a shelter because nobody stepped up to save him. I’m so sick. We tried so hard to find a foster for you, I’m sorry people continued to fail you 💔

Last call: Wayne was abandoned by his owner in an apartment when they moved out of the country. The sudden change in environment and the traumatic experience of being left alone likely contributed to current behavioral signs of kennel neurosis. This is impacting his quality of life

We are working on pulling Reese (mama), Rynn, and Ruben from the shelter after they were left to fend for themselves in an apartment community! Even though the kittens are old enough to be by themselves, we will NOT leave mama behind. That’s just not the kind of rescue we are.
