Kevin is still looking for a forever couch.
He can live with cats(who aren't runners) and small dogs!

He will play with stuffies, crate trained, dog door trained, walks well on leash, rides well in the car, not afraid of loud noises,loves to sleep!

4) if approved , a home check is scheduled
5) we don't adopt to families with children
under 15 yrs of age

His foster will be leaving town late September and would like to get Kevin adopted before they leave.

Q: What does GreySave, GALT-AZ, GALT-Dallas, GALT-Central Texas and Southeastern Greyhound Adoption all have in common?

A: Six newly retired greyhounds from Caliente and two Hemopet dogs!

Five adoption groups combined resources to see these eight beauties on their way to forever homes in Texas.

GALT volunteer, Jennifer, met Jed several months ago and fell in love, yet her pack was at its max. Circumstances were such that Jed came to Arizona. Shortly after, Jennifer’s circumstances had a heartbreaking change. And to make a long, loving story short-yesterday Jed flew with Jennifer back to Dallas to live his forever, happily ever after!

Congrats! Our hearts are full!

Making a donation is a great way to lend a helping hand in the work to help retired greyhounds go from track to couch. We rely on donations to assist us with transport expenses, vet care, monthly preventative, dog food for fosters, lifetime microchip registration for adopters and much more.

Since late February, with the help of volunteers and donors, thirty greyhounds have found their way to permanent homes. Many thanks to all for your support--you make greyt things pawsible!

Atticus is seeking a forever home where he can be an only pet. Until recently, Atticus spent his life in a home as an only dog. Tragically his owner passed away in February. Since then, Atticus has been adrift in the world (as we all are, from time to time), but he hasn’t let it get him down. His happy little spirit is evident despite the rocky upset of this recent chapter and every person who meets him falls in love with his enthusiastic (and chaotic) tail wags.

He is a very people centered hound, and loves to make new human friends. If you are home, Atticus will want to be where you are, be it living room, bedroom or bathroom. In his foster home, he liked to sleep next to his foster mom and understood when it’s bedtime. Typically, If you are home, he will follow you to make sure that he’s not missing any chance at some attention or snacks. Atticus has been left alone at home during the day for long stretches of time and hasn’t gotten into any trouble (no bathroom accidents or chewing) although he would certainly be smart and ambitious enough to counter surf and probe for bonus treats if given the chance.

Atticus is a firm believer that age is just a number. Despite technically being in the senior class, he loves to go on long walks and will dance around when he sees you grab the leash. He loves to be outside in the sun but doesn’t bark or cause a nuisance. He has a curious mind and wants to know what everyone is up to. He will always be so happy to see you when you return home and he is a leaner. He will lean right into you if he gets the slightest sense that you will love on him and he very much wants to show that he loves you right back.

Greyhound Atticus needs to find his new forever home soonest. He is quick to trust and always assumes the best of everybody he meets. This people-loving boy needs an only-dog home where he can be adored and can adore his person. He has many years of happy tail wagging in his future. He just needs to find his new place in the world for his next and hopefully final chapter. Atticus shouldn’t live with small dogs, cats, or other pets.

We have three adorable hounds still looking for their forever homes. The fosters are in love with each of them. Jed is a happy young boy who is simply a hoot and will be great companion for an active home. Same with Henry who is just as active and great. Then there's Tess--she's been a delight, enjoying her time with her foster greyhound companions.

We also have learned there are Hemopet lurchers in need of homes. If you're interested in fostering or adopting, please let us know. We'd love to be a part of their placement journey with your help.

Hi! My name is Cleveland and no, I'm not from Ohio but I understand it's a fun place to visit. I'm 3 years old and a scratch behind my ears is all it takes for me to fall in love with you. My favorite thing to do is to chill. Are you surprised? I'm a greyhound! Of course, I love to play and go for walks. I've met three cats and they were good to sniff but other than that, they really didn't hold my interest.

THIRTY

Since February 20th, we have welcomed thirty Australian greyhounds and have had the joy of watching them find wonderful homes with loving owners and comfy couches.

We often say, 'it takes a village', but it really does. Many thanks to the team of volunteers who work tirelessly in finding the perfect home. You'll often hear, "it's a labor of love".

You can help us, too, by shopping and sharing our Facebook auction. We rely on donations to support our work--from vet bills, transport costs, food for fosters, monthly preventative, collars, leashes and much more.

Check out Rio! His foster and GALT NM volunteers gush about this sweet boy who has the personality to match. He's 3 years old, weighs in under 60 lbs and is confident and well-adjusted. Truly a mix--25% greyhound with Great pyrenees and Weimaraner rounding out the mix.
Rio is the perfect companion for someone looking for a velcro buddy who enjoys adventures.
