Brady update! Brady had a blood transfusion last weekend and is recovering! He was able to go to his foster home on Monday afternoon and is getting stronger every day.

Here’s an update from his foster: Brady is so much better, he is mad at being confined in that crate. Look at the evil eye he's giving me, because I should be holding him!
Many thanks for the donations and best wishes for hi

Our busy week began with a transport of 20 dogs and puppies to Wisconsin and ended with us bringing 33 dogs and puppies to Scatter Joy Acres in Nebraska. These dogs came from rural East Texas, Austin, Dallas, and Oklahoma. They were all abandoned or dumped, including a little heeler family that was left in a trailer to die when the family moved away. Needless to say it takes a village to help these dogs, from rescuers who see dogs and help them, to fosters who open their homes, vets who reduce fees to vaccinate and treat them, to the rescues who make room for a few more, and of course the adopters who make them part of their families. We love to be a part of these dogs’ happily ever afters. ❤️

Rescue can be full of happy, active puppies like a van full of 27 barking, talking pups. Then you start over with a new group of happy ones. Tragedy can strike overnight, from last bed check to early morning. This beautiful little pup (on the left) was limp and could not stand yesterday morning. His foster immediately thought parvo and rushed to a vet. It wasn’t Parvo but severe anemia caused by a heavy load of hookworms.
Brady is spending the weekend at the vet clinic getting a blood transfusion and meds. His name is BRADY and he deserves this chance to live! Please donate to Pets Going Places and say Brady in the comment. Donations can be made on our website or by Venmo or PayPal.

It’s been a busy week! Monday began with a 2 am start driving 20 dogs and puppies to new lives in Wisconsin. the majority of the dogs and pups went to our amazing rescue partners Fetch Wisconsin Rescue and Wisconsin Adopt A Golden Retriever along with 4 to another rescue and one to an adopter! Team work is certainly making this dream work for all these Texas dogs! Thank you to everyone who makes this happen: fosters, volunteers, rescue partners, supporters and donations. We couldn’t do without everyone pulling together.

Ahoy fellow collectors, savers, gatherers, accumulators, hoarders!

Those of us who are hanging on to that size four dress we wore in college because we are totally convinced we'll get back into it (no way), the beautiful heels you can't wear because it's likely you'll fall over and break something (absolute 100% yes way), or the four dozen purses that are collecting dust because you're schlepping the same bag day in and day out.

Pets Going Places has the solution for you!

Gasp!? How does dog rescue help me clean my closet?

In honor of National Rescue Day we’d like to introduce you to the Charcuterie Litter: Rye, Olive, Brie, Machego, Cheddar, Swiss, and 4 more names to be determined. They babies were found near a train track in the country. There were originally 15, but by the time they were rescued 5 had died from either cats or other trauma. These are the lucky ones. These babies are still in need. 4 are with a temporary foster and still need a home to stay in for 3 weeks. If you can open your home, fill out a foster application, or we can always use donations to apply to their care. Thank you for your support!

Puppy fosters needed for only about 3 weeks!! Texas is overflowing with puppies right now, and shelters are full. We get messages like this several times a day: Hello, I would like to ask you from the bottom of my heart for help. I have 10 puppies that were thrown on the train tracks. There were 15 of them, but two died, I don't know what, and 3 were run over.

We can only help if we have foster homes to care for the puppies until they go on transport, usually only 2-4 weeks. We provide all supplies and vet care. You provide the love and temporary home.

If you can help, please fill out a foster application at www.petsgoingplaces.org/foster

These puppies are in immediate need.

Last weekend was transport weekend! Unfortunately we get so busy unloading dogs and getting them to their new rescues and fosters, we aren’t able to take a lot of pictures. We had an amazing group of 21 dogs going to two fabulous rescues, Fetch Wisconsin Rescue and Furever Friends Sanctuary. As always we don’t charge rescues for transport. All transport expense is covered by donations, so donations are very appreciated.

Happy Earth Day!

Spend Earth Day with your dog!

Get outside and take them for a walk. You'll be very popular.

Use eco friendly and sustainable products like poo bags and make sure to recycle cans (don't forget to wash them out) and boxes food and treats come from.

Donate old blankets and towels to the local shelter or vet, keep them out of the landfill.

Plant some flowers to attract pollinators. I bet your dog would love to be with you and better yet, help. 😳

Don't have a dog? Want to try short term fostering? Reach out to us, it's joy without commitment or cost.

We're always happy to take a donation as well.

Do it for Mother Earth and her many creatures who need our help to live their best lives.

Thanks all, enjoy the day!

Okay pay attention, this is a story that keeps on giving.

We have an upcoming transport to Wisconsin with some of our PGP dogs as we do all year long.

And we're grateful to be helping our friends at Archangel Animal Network transport these bulldogs from a cruelty situation to our friends at Fetch Wisconsin Rescue.

Look at those faces only a mother, and every dog person on the planet could love.

In addition, we have an SPCA rescue tag-along.

Oh, and a dumped, pregnant momma dog who we pray holds puppies inside until she hits the land of cheese.

All of these kids getting loaded on the van to head to new life once we figure out how to configure all the crates.
(Calling all Rubik's cube experts)

We don't charge a cent to transport, but we do have to pay for gas. Wisconsin is about 2000 miles round trip.

Could you, would you help us fill up a tank or two to get these kids home?

Giving Tuesday is the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
It's a day to celebrate non-profits that strive to make the world better by financially supporting our missions.

Please help us by donating. $25- $50 gets us a bag of food, $75 a tank of gas, $200 a spay/neuter...whatever you can do helps.
Every penny goes to caring for and transporting our pups going places.
Your generosity will help us continue our mission, as we operate entirely with volunteers and donations.

We've transported 2000+ dogs out of Texas, making room for another 2000+ dogs in local shelters, and logged more than 30,000 miles. That's 4000+ dogs who got their chance at a lifetime of love, instead of the sad alternative (being euthanized) that happens to thousands of Texas dogs and puppies.

Join us in making a difference and donate today!

It’s transport day!! 15 puppies and 6 adult dogs are driving to Wisconsin to new lives and families of their very own. We never charge for transport, so if you’d like to help us with gas money, we’d really appreciate it. We’ll post again when we get there!

09/22/2023

Thank you to everyone who donated to Pets Going Places on North Texas Giving Day. Your dollars will go a long way to help vet the dogs, and gas up the van to take them to their new lives.

Of course we take donations any time of the year. You can find the donate button right at the top of the page.

And if you're interested in fostering, please reach out.
It's indescribable joy.

Oliver was picked up on the streets of Dallas, starving, our own little Oliver Twist. A social post brought him to Pets Going Places. He could barely walk, and eating was a challenge for his digestion. But his foster helped him with nutritious meals and love and attention. He's a sweet old soul in his 1-year old body. He's now a gentle giant. Up from 36 pounds to a healthy 70 pounds, he's ready to transport for adoption by his forever family.
Help us help more pups like Oliver by donating. https://www.northtexasgivingday.org/PetsGoingPlaces
