We had a super tight schedule today. So Dash was allowed to join me at the dentist since getting to our therapy visit afterwards was going to be tight. Super proud of this boy. He was awesome! There’s no way to train for this before hand, so it was real time training while there. He didn’t make a peep and sat in between my legs for the whole visit. You are a superstar young Dash!🐾🤩

I just received the collage I commissioned from Studio Trouvaille CS of Mackie, made with some of the ribbons he earned doing noseworks/scentworks. I am so in love with it. I used this picture of Mackie becasue he was tracking a high hide. And for this little guy to go high was a really big deal. It was one of my most favorite runs we did together and yes, he found the hide, indicated it for me and we Q'd. Thank you Cassidy for the wonderful piece of art I will always treasure. And thank you Gretchen Jernigan for capturing this photo of Mackie working. I am just over joyed with this piece and cannot stop looking at it! 🐾🏅💓

If you know of anyone in a domestic abuse situaton, there is help out there for them and their pets. The SPCA of Texas had a program that I used to foster for. If someone was in an abusive relationship and trying to leave, I would foster their dog for up to 8 weeks at no charge to the victim. I am not sure if they still have this program, but folks can check with shelters. I do know The Family place does have areas for victims to keep their pets with them.

If you know of anyone in this type of situation, please help them find help. The victims will usually not leave a pet behind. And if someone is being abused, so is their animal.

Let's all try to help them have a safe place to go.

Fortunately, there is a growing number of domestic violence shelters that allow pets and other means victims of domestic abuse that own pets can seek help.

Some food for thought. Super great article about potty training a puppy. As the article says, “it’s simple but not easy”. It takes persistence!

The most important part of house-training a puppy is paying close attention to their needs. It can be easy for our attention to slip.
