We’re now accepting open slots for our top dressing service. This service includes, sand/compost material, core aeration and an application of fast release nitrogen. This beneficial service will level depressions in the lawn, change the soil structure so water can pe*****te and fill in patchy places in warm season turfs such as Bermuda and Zoysia. Unfortunately, we all do not have large fans to dry out our lawns. With humidity reaching 100% percent daily and evening pop up showers, fungus is thriving as water sits on the grass blade overnight. Dollar spot and large patch are wrecking havoc throughout the southeast.

Here are steps you can take to help avoid fungus in your turf.

Mow every 4-7 days and occasionally bag and remove clippings when mowing your turf. No matter the height never remove more than 1/3 of the blade at any time as this causes stress and nitrogen( fertilizer depletion).
Core-aerate your lawn once per year to improve drainage.
Never mow when grass is wet.
Water deeply once per week between 5 and 10 am.
Prune trees and shrubs to raise the canopy and to improve airflow and stop stagnant air.
Maintain a sharp blade and clean blades and deck after each mow as too not spread fungus if present.
Resolve any drainage issues.

A healthy turf is less susceptible to disease.
