‼️UPDATE‼️
We have named this baby Grace. Yesterday, Grace was taken to the clinic, where testing was conducted, medication for pain, and strong antibiotics were administered. However, surgery is not currently possible due to her malnourished and dehydrated state. We are working with the veterinarian to schedule a surgery appointment. We will keep you all informed and thank you for your prayers and support. She has a long road ad to recovery but we will be beside her every step of the way!

‼️❗️URGENT‼️❗️ ❤️‍🩹
*The following images are graphic* we need immediate assistance from our rescue supporters! We need the support of our donors and everyone else to come together and provide as much aid as possible, including prayers, for this baby. She has suffered a gunshot wound to the eye, resulting in infection and significant amount of swelling. Urgent surgical intervention is necessary and has to be performed immediately. We received a message regarding a potentially injured cat that may have been shot in the eye. Upon receiving this baby, we can confirm now that she has a gunshot wound, that has caused the eye to rupture and become severely infected. She is in severe pain right now. She is the sweetest, most loving cat and whoever done this is simply heartless! She will have to have Enucleation surgery, which involves the removal of the eye. The vet will have to remove the eyeball and eyelids, the wound will then be stitched and the empty eye socket will be covered with skin. If you can please help, we would greatly appreciate any assistance you may give. It doesn’t matter if it’s 1$ $5 or $20, every penny counts towards this girls surgery because we are not funded at all other than by our amazing supporters and donors! You all are such a blessing to us here at Little Bit Of Heaven Rescue. 501c3 non-profit organization.

If you would like to donate with a card Or Apple Pay, to help towards this baby’s surgery, please click here: https://pay.littlebitofheavenrescue.com/donation

This message serves as a reminder of the existence of heartless individuals who abandon animals. This is exactly why we are dedicated to rescue. Our mission is to assist animals in need. Although we may be at max capacity at times, we will utilize all available resources that we have to provide support. This includes contacting other rescue organizations, sharing contact information for alternative rescues, offering supplies if we have them available, and taking direct action when feasible. It is unacceptable that animals are abandoned, especially in freezing temperatures.

If you have adopted from us and are no longer able to care for your pet, we will gladly take the animal back. Our goal as a rescue is to prevent these situations from arising. We do NOT want to see animals discarded and struggling to survive. We have received numerous reports of similar incidents, and it is disappointing that some individuals lack empathy and can abandon animals, treating them as trash. These animals deserve better, and such behavior is inexcusable. Do better.

All of these babies need a helping hand. If you have a welcoming home for one or two, please feel free to reach out to us. We want to help as many find a home, as we can. They deserve a new chapter because the life they have lived isn’t a life any animal deserves.

This baby is the most loving, affectionate, kitten you will ever meet. Meet Romeo! He is beautiful. Romeo was found thrown in a dumpster, here in Whitfield County. Someone heard his screams for help and went to see that little Romeo was tossed in a dumpster and trapped inside of a trash bag. He is truly a little miracle baby and we have fallen in love with him! We were contacted and immediately went to pick Romeo up to see that he was such a sweet little baby and for someone to be able to be so cruel was so shocking to us. Romeo will be up for adoption once he has received all of his necessary vetting. If you are interested in Romeo, please reach out to us and we can discuss more about this little angel and adopting him. You can also sponsor Romeo’s vetting here: https://pay.littlebitofheavenrescue.com/donation

We have recently taken in and rescued a number of cats and we are in dire need of paper pellet cat litter. We use paper pellet cat litter because it is low dusting, it doesn’t make a mess when cats use the litter box like clay litter, and it prevents cats from getting a UTI. If you would like to donate litter to us, please reach out or you can send donations here so that we can purchase the litter we are in need of➡️ https://pay.littlebitofheavenrescue.com/donation

We also have it on our Rescue Amazon wish list.

Rescue work is HARD and I don't say that lightly. Despite the social media posts and reels of happy adoptions and cute kittens, rescue behind the scenes is a very different story. This is just a glimpse of things YOU will probably never see or experience:

- You will never experience the moment a kitten is gasping for their last breaths.

- You will never know what it's like to be at the emergency vet all night only to have a kitten die, wake up 3 hours later and have to function because there are many other lives counting on you. There's no time to cry or grieve properly.

- You will never have to make difficult decisions whether to spend thousands of dollars on one cat for a complicated surgery or Question “do I try to socialize these semi feral kittens to give them a chance at an adoptable indoor life or save the space for future 5-10 friendlies? Or do I take in this medical kitten who will be euthanized at the shelter if I don’t save it?” You have to make all of these hard decisions every single day and nothing is “easy”.

- You will never have to wake up every 2 hours to bottle feed newborn kittens because someone decided to “rescue” them and brought them to you while mama cat was out trying to get food. Basically kidnapping them…But hey, they feel good because they “rescued them” and left you to do all the hard work, pay the medical bills, and spend every weekend at adoption events making sure they go to good homes.

- You will never see the cruel side of humanity where you witness animal abuse, kittens being thrown out of cars, cats taped up in boxes and dumped in the garbage, find half dead kittens in a shoe box….and you are still expected to be a kind, polite, and a happy, normal human being.

- You will never have to give up your corporate job because working a normal 8+ hour day and then coming home to do rescue “work” for another 8-10 hours is just not sustainable or healthy for anybody.

- You will never know what it's like to give up every weekend to “work” adoption fairs, miss family events, miss out on friendships and relationships, or have a social life. You'll never know what it feels like to sacrifice so much, give SO much, and feel SO underappreciated.

But I know all these things because this is what it's like to run a rescue. I am fully aware that this is my choice.

People will say “why don't you have more cats for adoption?” or give an attitude because they weren't the selected adopter for the kitten of their choosing. People demand that I help them because “you're a rescue” and that I “should come to their house and remove these cats” or ask “why can't you help me with these kittens?” because I'm tired. I have limits. I am one person and funding all of these animals is nearly impossible without help.

If you are adopting from a rescue, if you're asking for rescue help, just read some of these things and please be kind. We are really doing our best. If you know a person in rescue, buy them a coffee, a snack, a drink- they most likely haven't eaten anything all day. Appreciate them in a way that will make their day a little bit easier. Everyday is a difficult day for us in rescue but kindness goes a long way. Like I said…rescue work is hard. Most people don't know or understand - but now you know… even if it's just a glimpse.

The night before last, it was cold, so cold that our hands were frozen, our feet were frozen, because we had been out trying to help some of the stray animals and putting out food for them in Dalton, GA. We had seen a Good Samaritan post on Facebook that this baby was at the Taco Bell and stated he looked like he needed help. It was really cold, and this baby was staying close to the door so he could feel the heat coming through the cracks of the door. We got there and immediately attended to the cat. He was very skittish and wouldn’t come close enough for us to be able to grab him, so we sweet-talked him, opened a can of food, and finally he came out of his shell so that we could put him in a crate. Once he was home, he opened up and seemed like he realized that we were just trying to help him. Now (Taco) is opening up and starting to trust us even more. We figured the name Taco was fitting 😂. He is an unaltered male, no chip, and is very skittish at first. We plan on getting him all of his vetting procedures done soon. As most of you know, we are not funded at all other than by the amazing donors that support what we do, so if you would like to sponsor Taco or help us with his vetting, please feel free to reach out to us or donate here: https://www.paypal.me/lbohrescue

Thank you all and god bless!

As winter was approaching us, we were trying to figure out something to keep some of the stray/feral cats warm and out of the weather. We came across and seen they offered exactly what we were looking for. Their indoor/outdoor elevated cat house is nothing short of amazing and great quality. These houses are insulated, waterproof, and also come with a heating pad to insure you that your cats/strays will stay warm throughout the winter. We highly recommend the Clawsable Cat House! The cat house also has a back door for an easy escape route just incase something is trying to harm the cat. Keep your cats safe and warm with a Clawsable Cat House!
