Meet Lightning, a charming three month old 4 pound Chihuahua mix. Lightning is the last one of his litter mates needing a home. He is such an affectionate, playful little guy. He is ready for a family. Go to hsnwga.org to apply for him.

Glacier hurt his leg, so he can’t play in the pond area with his friends 🥲. Off to Baja Coop we went for grilled chicken. A little walk to Burr Park and checked out the trees at The Carpentry Hotel 🎄 🐾🎄. Happy boy was ready to go back for dinner 🐾

The Humane Society of Northwest Georgia has received a $12,000 grant from the Georgia Department of Agriculture's Dog & Cat Sterilization Grant Program! This generous funding will help us continue our mission in assisting community residents in spaying and neutering their cats and dogs.

We are currently providing cat spay/neuter certificates to qualified Whitfield County residents. Please see the graphic in this post for qualifications and how to obtain a cat spay/neuter certificate. For now, this is for cats only, but we will post about dog spay/neuter certificate availability at a later date.

🐶 ❤️ 🐈‍⬛ Thank you to the Georgia Department of Agriculture for supporting our efforts in keeping our furry friends happy and healthy!

How can you help continue this great program? Purchase a Cat or Dog License plate when you renew your tag or buy a new vehicle. Or you can also donate directly through the Department of Agriculture Dog & Cat Sterilization Program.

🆘 Please Help!

❤️ Grumby, a 10 year old chihuahua, came into our care after his owner passed away. He is hard of hearing, has a 4 out of 6 hear murmur and desperately needs a dental to extract teeth.

Please donate to help us get him a dental and some additional health care. Donations may be made by clicking the donate button here or by submitting a donation through our website site at www.hsnwga.org.

Of course, he needs a permanent living home as well. To apply to adopt him go to www.hsnwga.org.

Jude is in 5th grade at CHS and has a love for animals. So, he decided his 5th grade service project would be to help animals. He understands how much animals need love and give so much love to their humans.

Jude has made ornaments and they are on sale for $10 at d.DonatellI Italian Kitchen at The Mill. Please come by and eat a delicious meal and purchase an ornament. ALL ornament proceeds will go to purchase supplies and delivered by Jude to The Humane Society.

Are you ready Glacier for a little walk at Dalton Mill Line Park? Thank you to this park for allowing dogs to go for a walk 🖤. It’s a beautiful trail and a great walk for anyone. Glacier and his shelter friends look forward to more walks in this wonderful place.

Glacier walked over a mile and watched some people fish, jog and bike ~ he was one happy boy 🐾🖤🐾. Glacier is hoping to have an amazing home for Thanksgiving ~ come meet Glacier on one of his many adventures.

It was a great day 🩷🐾🩷. Ottawa and Paisley were BFF’s at the shelter. Two months ago Ottawa was adopted by an amazing couple. I reached out to see how my Ottawa was doing and talked about Paisley ~ she has not been the same since Ottawa left. Today was a BIG day ~ these two sweet girls were reunited 🩷. The sweet couple was willing to give Paisley a home as well. A few pictures and their first meeting after two months. This is why we do what we do ~ friendships in these amazing dogs 🩷. Yes, I LOVED seeing my sweet “Ott” ~ there is forever her paw print on my heart 🩷
