It’s National Peanut Butter Day! It’s one of Tito’s favorite treats but he wants to remind you of what you should look for when choosing a jar for your furry friends. While peanut butter is a great enrichment tool and wonderful for medicating your pets, there are some important factors that should be taken into consideration.

•xylitol is an artificial sweetener that is toxic to dogs and is a common ingredient in peanut butter

•introduce new foods (even delicious peanut butter) gradually

•the ideal peanut butter would contain only peanuts as fewer ingredients are preferable.

•peanut butter is calorie-dense and should be given in moderation
