This is Beezy, a dog we corrected from a devastating disease called deranged Rt Rear tarsal joint. Other surgeons gave her only the following two options after her injury: RR limb amputation, or arthrodesis of the joint with no guarantee of success. (This is the ‘before’ picture. Absolutely heartbreaking behavior from someone who calls herself a human being.

Pure evil. Let’s get this out there. It is obvious that the owner knew the dog would chase her on one of the busiest streets in California where the dog was obviously at risk for being HBC and killed.

This is Ted. This dog had a two year history of fainting (syncope), that the owner referred to as ‘seizures’. They weren’t seizures, but rather, they were temporary fainting spells from lack of oxygen going to the brain. Starting in April of this year, the respiratory distress started to worsen, and the owner finally started seeking treatment with us, coming over from her regular veterinarian who offered to help diagnose the syncope, (which they erroneously misdiagnosed as seizures). They did offer work-up and diagnosis two years earlier to the owners Jones and Lovato, but were denied to do any work up by the owners themselves. So, with Ted’s condition worsening, eventual work up was initiated by us, but after the initial screening tests of simple comprehensive blood analysis and chest radiographs, the owners refused any further work up, probably because the clinical symptoms were not so severe yet, and perhaps for financial reasons. But, like many diseases, this disease worsened and when it did, it worsened quickly, and, unfortunately, this pet passed away exactly two months later, or around 55 days after the owner stopped all work up. Had work up and surgery been initiated earlier, this pet would have had a much improved prognosis and likely a much better outcome. If there is a moral to this story, it is simply this: Like with many diseases of man and animals, anytime your pet has clinical symptoms of a potentially life-threatening illness, whether it be seizures, inability to breathe, fainting, inappetence, intractable diarrhea, vomiting, weight loss, anemia, growing lumps and bumps, and any other symptom that may not seem to be bad at the moment, please do NOT hesitate to take that pet to a competent veterinarian for work-up, diagnosis, and treatment if required! The ability to breathe normally, among other things, is an absolute need for all oxygen dependent organisms, particularly mammals. The results, like in this case, if you do not seek veter
