As Thanksgiving approaches, we want to stop and thank Mother Earth for the bounty in which we will be consuming. Mostly from the growth of our own turkeys, farm fresh vegetables, and a bonfire of woods on our property.

Through life's trials and depressions, this farm and our family are our happy place. We are thankful for our life together and what our love has grown into.

We wanted to make sure this little surprise made it!!! Meet Eydis! Appropriately named after the Godess of God Luck in Norse Mythology! We sold her father Johnny over 6 months again when baby Astrid came into the world. And SURPRISE!!!! Mom showed no signs of pregnancy nor did alert us to the birth like her last.

But MY OH MY I am smitten with this beautiful girl who is a spittin image of her daddy.

Happy New Year family and friends!!!

So much has happened and I thought I would update everyone.

This past year was crazy. Believe it or not I spent Christmas day in Suffolk, VA with my father and brother for the first time in 16 years! Yes I said 16 years. They met my gorgeous wife and bonded over cooking and puzzles. It was a little awkward but I'm happy to start building back my family again.

On the home front we have started fixing the little things. New toilet fixtures in each toilet. (No worries I won't show pictures). New kitchen faucet. And we decided to paint the bedrooms blue. New Years Eve we spent ringing in the new year with painting and fixing up our home.

Unfortunately, we haven't been able to continue due myself falling ill with covid/flu like symptoms. But I'm on the up and up and will be back to normal soon I hope.

Fall is in the air. Taking time to enjoy the little things. Sitting on my porch and drinking coffee, feeling the brisk autumn air on my skin, and watching as my animals thrive and enjoy their lives on our little homestead. I'm am beyond grateful for this beautiful morning with Darylyn.

Update: Darylyn is using her gift from MONTHS ago on our anniversary. We started with 10 eggs and only 8 have life. But after 8 days we have 8 baby sexlink and wyandottes growing happy and healthy. Fingers crossed you guys.

Our sweet Astrid has been sleeping, eating, pooping, then playing ALL day. Watching her grow has been amazing. We are only on day 4 but we are so in love with this sweet girl who LOVES kisses.

We just came home to the beautiful surprise. A healthy baby girl. Her mother destroyed the goat enclosure so excuse the mess. I'm sure child birth isn't easy for anyone

My amazing wife, Darylyn, saved two babies birds (I had to climb the ladder and put them back). But now they have flown the nest and made it just fine. Proud homesteading moment.

Also yesterday... my equally amazing wife killed a copperhead and the chickens ran up and stole the body so no pictures. I'm so proud of the woman she is and the amazing life we are creating together ❤

Well Lagetha is definitely coming along in her pregnancy. After her last miscarriage we are taking so much more precautions. Only one more month and the little ones will be here. We are too excited to meet them! Guesses on how many she is going to have?

What a weekend!!! Clearing out some land yesterday. Cut down 4 big trees today and dispatched our first 3 rabbits of the season!
