Here’s the winning hunt!

In novice the dog must go through a tunnel once, climb up once and find the live rat.

(Novice has three tubes: one blank, one with used rat litter and one with a live rat)

Monty The Therapy Dog and Tracy Gasdik Krapf had an early “luck of the Irish ☘️ “ day:

The Barn Hunt trial at Ice-Bern Farm was at capacity, but, a few dogs dropped out last minute and we were there on wait list …so…

Monty earned a brand new title: RATI for Barn Hunt Instinct

And the best part of the day…Monty had his first ever qualifying score in Barn Hunt Novice AND came in first place with High In Class!

He won with a time of 1:00.46 minute

We are beyond tickled at his accomplishment! He literally had 3 training lessons going into today. 3!!!

This was pure instinct and handling that got us the win today. I’m so glad our trainer encouraged us to enter! Monty is a natural!

Monty The Therapy Dog is looking forward to spring and all the fun adventures coming up!

In addition to his visits at LVHN-Muhlenberg, and Lehigh Valley International Airport, Monty will be testing to become the newest Therapy Dog at LVHN-Pediatric Hospital!

And spring brings FAST CAT trials and Monty’s newest competitive sport, Barn Hunt!

Over Easter, Monty will test his Instincts as a Scottish Terrier and go for his RATI and RATN (instinct and novice) titles in Barn Hunt Trials! He is a natural and loves this sport. His Teacher, Janine, has been superb in honing those terrier skills and encouraging us to go to trial .

March 15th look for Monty in his finest Scottish kilt (designed by Louisa Cozy Coats for Pets ) at the Conshohocken St Patrick’s Day Parade. Monty has been a fan favorite at the parade. This will be his 3rd year marching!

A beautiful green MacLean of Duart tartan with silver and green doublets, sporan and drums! Dont forget matching collar , bow tie and leash!

He’s so handsome and ready for all his St Patty’s therapy dog visits and the Conshohocken St Pattys parade!

Monty The Therapy Dog had a ruff week. He was sick and missed a few appointments. We missed everyone, but we are glad to say Monty is feeling better and had his very first barn hunt lesson. He loves it! Maybe a new title to work on?
