MOAS Pets

MOAS Pets Welcome to the Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter, better known as MOAS. We have been in existence since 2002. But we can't do all of this without you!
(609)

Our mission is to save as many pets as possible while reducing the unwanted pet population through a low-cost spay and neuter clinic operated out of the shelter. We take our role seriously, and we are excited about the many community initiatives that we are able to offer to assist in reducing pet overpopulation and to provide better care for family pets. These initiatives include our monthly low-c

ost vaccine clinics, our low-cost spay/neuter program, our assistance with trapping and altering feral cats, our community pet food bank, and more! MOAS is solely responsible for running the shelter and relies on a volunteer Board of Directors to set shelter policy and to raise necessary funds. We also partner with regional rescue groups and other local shelters to collaborate on ways that we can all work together to improve the outcomes for people and their pets. We need your help to continue to offer these services and to help us expand our programs in the future. Some of the ways that you can help are by donating money or supplies, volunteering, supporting our special events throughout the year like our annual Bark & Wine fundraiser, and advocating for our shelter pets in the community. With your help, we are making a difference in the lives of the precious animals entrusted to our care. So come out to the shelter and adopt a great pet. Or if your home is full but your heart still has some room, come out and foster or volunteer. You might also consider donating to help with the medical needs of our most vulnerable animals. Our Guardian Angel Fund exists to help pay for medical treatment for injured or ill animals that are brought to us. Please also keep us in mind as you plan your annual giving. Setting up a one-time or monthly donation to either our general fund or our Guardian Angel Fund is quick and easy. Any assistance is always appreciated by the staff and especially the animals. Thank you for your support of our shelter, and we hope that you'll visit us soon! Hours of Operations (Subject to change)

❄️ From Snowflakes to Soulmates ❄️

The snow may be gone, but our dogs are still holding out for something even more magical—a visit from you! After a couple of chilly, quiet days, they’re ready for warm cuddles, belly rubs, and maybe even a forever family to call their own.

We’re open today from 12-4 PM, and these sweet pups (and our fabulous cats!) are eager to make new friends. They had their fun in the snow, but let’s be honest—they’d trade all the frosty adventures for a chance at a warm couch, tasty treats, and someone to love them through every season.

If you’re ready to adopt, or just want to stop by and make their day, don’t leave them hanging. Come thaw their hearts and maybe melt yours a little too. Who knows? You might just meet your next great love.

Stop by today—because nothing warms up a wintery weekend like wagging tails and purring snuggles! 🐾❤️

🩺 Linden Needs a Guardian Angel 🩺

Sweet Linden has been with us since he was just a tiny 6-week-old kitten. Now, at only 7 months old, he’s facing the fight of his life. Four days ago, he lost the use of his back legs, and he’s been struggling to eat or drink. He’s rapidly lost weight, and we’re heartbroken to share that he’s not alone. Linden is the 7th cat at MOAS in the past two months to experience these troubling symptoms.

Despite our best efforts, we’ve already lost 4 of these precious souls. We’re determined to find answers, not just for Linden but for every cat in our care. He’s currently receiving supportive care, and samples have been sent off to test for various illnesses.

Linden deserves the chance to grow into the healthy, happy cat we know he can be. 💛

We need your help to cover his mounting medical expenses. Donations to our Guardian Angel Fund allow us to provide life-saving care for animals like Linden. Every dollar makes a difference, and no amount is too small.

💔 Your kindness transforms heartache into hope. Together, we can give Linden—and so many others—a second chance.

Thank you for being part of Linden’s journey.

"Hey guys! Kingston here! The hoomans at the shelter said that some AMAZING people sent us these cool jackets to wear! They said that when we go on adventures, I can wear it and it'll help me find a new home. Thank you! 🐾"

Kingston has been at the shelter for 132 days. He is looking for a home with no cats and a soft couch to sleep on. If that sounds like your style, we would LOVE to have you meet him!

If you would like to help Kingston (and all of our other dogs) try out their new outfits, please email our Outreach Coordinator at [email protected] to get more information about fostering and doggy day out!
