Our mission is to save as many pets as possible while reducing the unwanted pet population through a low-cost spay and neuter clinic operated out of the shelter. We take our role seriously, and we are excited about the many community initiatives that we are able to offer to assist in reducing pet overpopulation and to provide better care for family pets. These initiatives include our monthly low-c

ost vaccine clinics, our low-cost spay/neuter program, our assistance with trapping and altering feral cats, our community pet food bank, and more! MOAS is solely responsible for running the shelter and relies on a volunteer Board of Directors to set shelter policy and to raise necessary funds. We also partner with regional rescue groups and other local shelters to collaborate on ways that we can all work together to improve the outcomes for people and their pets. We need your help to continue to offer these services and to help us expand our programs in the future. Some of the ways that you can help are by donating money or supplies, volunteering, supporting our special events throughout the year like our annual Bark & Wine fundraiser, and advocating for our shelter pets in the community. With your help, we are making a difference in the lives of the precious animals entrusted to our care. So come out to the shelter and adopt a great pet. Or if your home is full but your heart still has some room, come out and foster or volunteer. You might also consider donating to help with the medical needs of our most vulnerable animals. Our Guardian Angel Fund exists to help pay for medical treatment for injured or ill animals that are brought to us. Please also keep us in mind as you plan your annual giving. Setting up a one-time or monthly donation to either our general fund or our Guardian Angel Fund is quick and easy. Any assistance is always appreciated by the staff and especially the animals. Adoption Hours: Sun & Tues 12:00pm-4:00pm and Wed - Sat 12:00pm-5:00pm
Surgery Hours: By Appointment Only (Drop off is between 8:30-9:00am)

🚨 Temporary Closure Announcement 🚨

Due to a parvo outbreak at the shelter, we are temporarily pausing dog intakes, dog adoptions, and dog-related visits until further notice. This precaution allows us to prioritize the health and safety of our animals and prevent the spread of illness.

🐾 Cat intakes and adoptions are still open and unaffected by this situation.

👉 What does this mean?
• Dog intakes and adoptions are on hold.
• The shelter is closed for all dog-related visits.
• Cat services remain available as usual.

Our team is working tirelessly to contain the outbreak and care for all our animals.

UPDATE: Our apologies! Our clinic was temporarily listed as being sold out, but registration is now open again and will remain open until 12pm on November 15th. Please go ahead and register now if you were not able to do so earlier. Thank you for your patience!

Don't forget to register for our vaccine clinic this Sunday! Registration closes tomorrow (Friday) at noon. We have plenty of spots left, and this is a great chance to get your vaccines taken care of if you have to board your animals for the holidays. 💔 111 Days in the Shelter – Belle Needs Her Miracle 💔

Sweet Belle has been with us for 111 long days, and with each passing day, we can see her spirit fading. She came to us as an owner surrender, and while she was once hopeful, she’s slowly losing faith that her forever family is out there. It’s hard to watch her heart break a little more every day.

Belle is dog selective—she’s had a kennelmate here before, but since her friend was adopted, she’s made it clear that she prefers the kennel all to herself. Living in the shelter, she’s constantly surrounded by other dogs, and it’s been hard for her to relax. The stress of this noisy, crowded environment is wearing her down. But we believe that in the right home, away from all the chaos, Belle has the potential to thrive.

Belle is the ultimate “vibe matcher.” If you’re up for some exercise, she’ll happily zoom around the yard with you. Craving a cozy day in? She’ll snuggle up close, helping you polish off snacks and making sure you don’t feel lonely. Belle has so much love to give, but she just needs a calm, understanding home where she can feel safe and be herself.

Watching her lose hope is breaking our hearts. Please, help us get Belle out of the shelter and into a home where she doesn’t have to share her space and can finally feel peace. She’s ready to be someone’s loyal companion, and all she needs is a chance.

💔 Raven's Heartbreak: Waiting for a Home She Thought She’d Never Lose 💔

Raven’s story tugs at our hearts. Adopted from our shelter as a puppy, she had a family and a place to call home. Now, at 8 years old, she’s back with us—through no fault of her own—and has spent the last month on the shelter floor, wondering why she’s here.

This sweet, gentle girl deserves so much more. She’s past the playful chaos of youth but still has so much love to give. Raven adores quiet strolls, gentle cuddles, and simply being by your side. She walks beautifully on a leash, always hopeful that each walk might lead her to the family she’s waiting for.

Raven’s adoption fees have been fully sponsored, removing any barriers to giving this beautiful soul the loving home she’s longing for. She just needs someone to open their heart and let her in.

Meet Leona and Alyeska, our two beautiful huskies with big hearts and even bigger personalities!

Leona is our gentle, laid-back girl who defies all husky stereotypes. She’s calm, quiet, and just wants a cozy spot to relax during her heartworm treatment and maybe some belly rubs. If you’re looking for a chill companion who’s low on the drama and high on the snuggles, Leona might just be your perfect match!

Then there’s Alyeska—one of our latest arrivals! This sweet girl was brought in as a stray last week, but you’d never guess it from her friendly, fun-loving nature. Alyeska’s all about making friends and would love a home where she can spread her joy and soak up the love.

We are waiving adoption fees for any adult cat in our community cat room. Must apply and be approved first.

We will be opening back up tonthe public this Wednesday from 12-5pm for adoptions and 12-4 for animal intakes. We are still completely full so please continue to adopt, foster or donate! ***We will be closed Thursday 6/27 to attend our beautiful Katie's service.

We have been asked by so many how they can best assist us with animal adoptions and ensuring these wonderful animals are getting the best homes. Donations assist in not only feeding and housing, but also assist in maintaining employees to care of these creatures and the medical care they most desperately need.
