I am making a courtesy post for a client whose living situation is changing. It’s very unfortunate and the decision is not taken lightly.

Dillon is on the search for a new forever. I have had the pleasure of boarding him frequently and he is the best boy! He sleeps with his mom although he is crate trained. He is potty trained as well. He plays well with other dogs and he is a big love bug. And by big, I mean BIG, he is a German Shepherd likely mixed with Great Pyrenees. Don’t miss out on this day! We will continue to release details as we approach this date. This will include registration for the events. The day itself is free to attend! If you would like to attend as a vendor or volunteer, please email us at [email protected]

The team events will put you and your besties against the rest! Each team will consist of 3 dogs competing for pride and glory.

Recall Relay - The 3 dog team will line up across a field while assistants hold your dogs. You must Recall your dog and achieve a Sit at your feet before the next dog on your team can recall. The team with the fastest time wins!

Rally Relay - Similar to the above event, each dog and handler from the 3 dog team must complete a Rally Themed Behavior before the next dog and handler can begin their turn. The team with the fastest time wins!

The Last Dog Sitting - The Handlers will place their dogs in a Stay while a series of silly and distracting situations begin to occur. Mild at first, the distractions will become ever more difficult until we break all the other dogs down to The Last Dog Sitting who wins!

Whine and Walk - To test your Loose Leash skills, the dog and handler will complete an obstacle course while the handler holds a whine glass full of water in one hand with the dogs leashed looped around that same hand. The team with the most water remaining in their glass wins!

Talent Show - For the pups who prefer to wag to the beat of their own drum and can’t be bothered to follow the rules, we have an event for you too! The Talent Show gives you the chance to show off the most amazing, cute, silly, or mind blowing trick or behavior that your dog can do. No obedience necessary! The crowd will pick this winner!

Littles got a Safe Zone Expanison this morning while also downsizing the area his potty pads take up. He has been doing great! We will begin transitioning to a bigger and bigger pen that he is to be trusted in when unsupervised. He gets lots of free time with frequent trips to his Safe Zone to make sure he doesn’t need to go potty.

We would like to end the program with no pen at all but we also don’t want to push him to fail so it all depends on his progress!

Keep in mind, I don’t typically walk Sissy off leash. I have my hands on the leash OR I have a leash that I loop over my shoulder. I would rather be safe than sorry therefore, I don’t do it. What we actually do is practice off leash behaviors every now and again when the only reason for the outing is practice. This way I have back up reliability if she were to get loose. It’s taken lots of repetition and practice to get to this point and by all means, I didn’t ever really think she might be capable of this 🤣 she was quite the heifer for some time! So for the pure sake of celebrating Sissy’s off leash reliability, here she is even though I will likely have her ON leash if you catch us out in public.

We will NOT be at Petsense Danville today with The Mobile Dog Gym. Our hills have not been cleared enough to make climbing them with a trailer safe. We may set up tomorrow instead so stay tuned! Remember, you can also schedule In Home visits with the gym.

Big step for Bennie! This boy LIVES for fetch so to maintain Place without chasing the ball is huge. It took us tons of reps to get one successful throw and from there he had it down! We don’t do this for the whole game of fetch, we don’t want to ruin the fun but to sprinkle these throughout the game is great practice at impulse control which WILL have an effect on his everyday listening skills. #positivereinforcement #dogtraining #boardandtrain #dogtrainer #goldenretriever

Zues gave The Mobile Dog Gym a try after his lesson today. He took straight to it going a steady 6 mph! Every dog reacts differently to the slat mill, it’s not a ‘natural’ feeling for the floor to move under their feet but they quickly catch on and start to enjoy the burn off of that pent up energy.

Playing a good game of tug can wear your dog out fast. Adding rules to the game can wear them out even faster! Work your dog physically AND mentally. By adding Leave It, Drop It, and Take It to your game of tug you will wear your pup out and build up some of their obedience skills. No food necessary. Lucy got to visit her first ever store and she did great. She was timid and a bit nervous but all very appropriate behaviors that recieved lots of praise. Some dogs may not “want” to handle the stimulation of being in public but Lucy will continue to build confidence in a public setting!
