Hendricks County Humane Society (Hendricks Humane) is a not-for-profit 501(c)-3 organization, founded in 1970.
Our programs solely depend on the generosity of our donors; membership drives; fundraising events; bequests and memorial contributions. We do not receive tax money or government assistance. Hendricks Humane is dedicated to โFacilitating Animal Welfare by Being a Voice for the Animalsโ; our primary purpose is to serve the animals and people living in Hendricks County.
Hendricks Humane is open on Monday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday and Friday afternoons from noon until 4:00 p.m. We employ part-time staff to assist families who are in need of our programs.
While one part of our mission is to care for and foster animals; we are not an animal shelter. The Hendricks County Animal Shelter and Control is located across from Hendricks Regional Hospital on Old US Hwy 36 or East Main Street in Danville. The HCACS is not associated with Hendricks Humane and is funded by taxpayer money. The phone number is 317-745-9250 and should be contacted for any concerns on animals in danger.
