We had a rough, long night with Goldie. She started with a frank breech (but small) buckling, followed by two more bucklings and then some placenta so we thought we were done with what’s become her “usual”…three bucklings, three years running now. But she continued to push and be really uncomfortable. Eventually Wes was able to pull a stillborn kid that was folded and stuck in her pelvis. 😢 Thankfully momma and her other 3 boys seem to be doing well after pain meds and antibiotics for momma.

It’s a full circle day here today. The prior litters’ pigs went for processing and Priscilla had her new litter. There’s an army of spots here with 13 live piglets. There were 14 total but one very large piglet was stillborn.

Cher’s pretty single moonspotted doeling born yesterday afternoon

Continuing an Easter tradition of kids born Easter Sunday…this time it was Trumpet with Swiss marked triplets around 2 pm. One buck and two does sired by Ramses.

Then, Cher decided to have her single moonspotted doe kid out by the hay feeder after evening chores. Also a Ramses kid.

The girls were busy last evening with 12 kids born to 4 mommas. Pictures are still a bit Bambi like but for the sake of somewhat keeping up with updates as they’re born, I’m posting.

Harriet (black and white doe) had triplets. A cream buckskin buckling, a mostly black doe and a black and white doe sired by Lucifer.

Cookie (Swiss doe) had buckskin buck/doe twins, both appear to have some moonspots also sired by Lucifer.

Madonna (blonde doe) had triplets. One cream doe, one black doe with a few small moonspots and a black buckling. The two black ones might be polled and blue eyed. Ramses is the sire.

Last but certainly not least, Clara had our first QUADS. Three bucks and a doe, all good size and doing well. The black with heavy white is the doe. The gold buck has moonspots. Bentley is their sire.

She also once again managed to pop all three out in the hour or so in between camera checks today.

Momma Priscilla welcomed these wiggling spots last Saturday.

The boys have been eagerly awaiting this day 🤣. Our breeding pens are set and Cindy (the doe the boys are all trying to “woo”) here is likely expecting around 4/5. April will be a busy month as all 17 does are “exposed” as of today.
