Tis the holiday season and everyone is busy and all rescues are overflowing but when we saw this picture, we had to help. Meet Kringle! This middle aged guy found himself dumped in horrendous condition and was saved by a fellow animal lover. Kringle arrived covered in nasty matted fur and hundreds of burrs. Thanks to Ashley's spot on dog grooming, Kringle feels much better and is being treated for nasty ear infections and trying to gain a little weight. Kringle will not be available for adoption for several weeks until he is fully healed and neutered.

UPDATE on Josiah

Thanks to the great staff at Crow Veterinary Clinic, Josiah is being treated for severe eye and ear infections, underwent surgery today to remove large cyst behind his ear, and all matting was removed from his face. This precious senior little guy enjoys a good soft bed and lots of treats. More updates to come. Thank you to everyone who made donations to help him.

Welcome Josiah to rescue!

This sweet old man has obviously been through more than any fur baby should have to go through in their life. He was originally brought into a local shelter covered in matted fur from head to toe.

He was immediately seen by our amazing veterinarian after coming to us who discovered double ear hematomas + infections, long time chronic dry eye + infections leading to blindness, flea infestation, a fluid filled cyst behind his ear, a tumor on his rear leg, skin infections, wounds, and the remaining matting on his face. Despite all of this, he is a precious little guy who loves a warm bed with canned food.

Josiah has a follow up vetting appointment on Friday to work on draining the cyst, seeing what can be done about the tumor, and finishing his needed grooming! We know that everyone is stretched super thin during the holiday season, but if there is anyway you are able to donate, Josiah would so appreciate any and all the help!

Donations can be made by calling in to Crow Veterinary Clinic in Moulton and adding it to our account, donating through our donation tab on our website, or through buying food or bedding off of our wishlists! If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this sweet guy!

Welcome Merritt to Rescue!!!

Merritt got off to a super rough start from what we can tell, but it’s only uphill from here! Thanks to a good samaritan, she was found in a known dumping ground with a steel snap hook stuck in her leg attached to chains, padlocks, and leashes. We believe the goal of whoever dumped or lost her was originally to be used as a bait dog for fighting.

Our veterinarian’s office was able to remove the hook using sedation and bolt cutters + took some x-rays to make sure nothing was broken or torn. The good news is that she is now putting weight on it, tested negative for heartworms, and received flea and tick prevention due to her infestation.

Merrit is the sweetest girl! She has not had any accidents in her crate, is an amazing car rider, does super well with cats, and loves to play + give kisses! She is nervous around other dogs which is to be expected considering her start to life, but with slow introductions to sweet dogs, she is learning to trust them!

Merrit is currently in the market for a foster/ foster to adopt! She is around 2 years old and weighs 36 lbs. If you are interested, please fill out the application found in our bio! If you can not foster or adopt, please share this post so it hopefully reaches someone who can!

Just a reminder about the two sweetest cats you’ll ever meet who are looking for their purrever homes!!!

Pierre(tabby) has been with us for 4 months since he had to witness his siblings being run over. Despite all of this he is the sweetest, chunkiest guy who would make the best friend to people and other animals alike!! He is fully vetted, litter box trained, and more than ready to find his family!

Rissa(tortoiseshell) has also been with us way too long despite how precious she is. She was dumped at an overcrowded shelter with her kittens and in need of some help! She love love loves people! Rissa is the perfect shadow and has the most precious purr. She is fully vetted, litter box trained, and more than ready to find her family!

Sometimes in rescue, the outcome is unfortunately not always happy.

Sweet Amelia joined us from a local shelter where it was believed that she had a collapsing trachea. After multiple medications and treatments, it was found that she actually had rapidly progressing lung cancer.

We unfortunately had to make the incredibly difficult decision to help her cross the rainbow bridge due to her suffering and constant pain. Throughout the short time we had this white faced girl she was loving to all she met, always tried her best to be happy, and loved a warm bed!

We are thankful for the time we had with Amelia and know that she is no longer in pain and now can enjoy all of the things she loves!

Meet Gracyn!

This pretty girl was adopted from the shelter as a puppy, returned because she was too “high energy”, then was at risk at the shelter due to overcrowding so we decided to take her in! This 11 month old 50 pound girl is as sweet as they come!

Despite all of the shuffling around she’s done in her short life, she loves everyone and everything! She is definitely shy at first around new people and friends, but warms up quickly. She is currently working on basic manners, walks well on a leash, loves being around other animals, and is very treat motivated!

Welcome Lemon to Rescue!

This precious older lady has obviously been through a lot in her life. She was brought into the shelter with terrible skin and eye infections, is in need of a dental, and was not up to date on any of her vetting. She has been/ is being treated for all of her medical problems and is doing great!

She is estimated to be 8-10 years old and weighs about 40 pounds. Lemon loves other dogs and is currently buddies with a sweet one year old girl that we also just took in! She walks well on a leash, is an amazing car rider, and is overall just a happy girl!

Just a reminder about this sweet boy who is available for adoption!

Collin is about 8 months old, 40 pounds, and has the best hound ears! He unfortunately has done a lot of his growing up in the shelter and now in rescue, but he is more than ready for a family of his own! He has completed all of his vetting, is working on house training, is very treat motivated, and loves his friends!

Update on one of our longest term residents, Redding! Since coming to us this boy has learned fetch, basic manners, gentle treat taking, how to play with others, and is working on sharing his food!He would love a home of his own! Also please ignore our construction zone! Thanks to our very generous grant, we are working on our outdoor kennels and couldn’t wait until they were finished to use them!
