11/09 UPDATE—We are extremely grateful for all the shares! Within the past 48 hours, our dog population has been reduced by 25% between rescue pulls, adoptions and a dog returned to its owner. This has provided us some much needed breathing room for the time being!

We do still have many dogs available for adoption, many of whom have waited multiple months for a family to give them a chance. Come see us to meet these deserving pups!

🆘🆘🆘 WE. NEED. HELP. 🆘🆘🆘

We come to you tonight in crisis. The past 11 days have brought 15 stray dogs to HCAS. We are a small facility with a total of 34 kennels. We were already very full, and these dogs have now pushed us to a truly overwhelming situation. Our staff is exhausted, our volunteers are tired, and the position we are currently in is just not sustainable. Every kennel is full, dogs are in crates lining the hall, adoptions are down, and rescue pulls are very hard to come by. There is simply no room for any incoming dogs, and we are left with the reality that we may have to make very difficult decisions if we cannot make some ground on space. It’s heartbreaking and never somewhere we thought we would be. We need our community’s help now more than ever.💔

A fantastic visual for doing nail trims at home. Dog's nails should be trimmed every 2 weeks. 3 at the MOST. I have had this breed for 20 years . They are a fun,active, loyal, highly intelligent, low shedding breed! Perfect for families with children and people with an active lifestyle.
