Hazel went from having multiple apps and lots of interest to nothing 😢She’s 4 years old and can live with dogs and cats, pending meet and greets to ensure good fit. She’s been with us since she was a puppy. It’s terrible watching her grow up in a shelter. If you can give her a forever home, contact us!
Chip is 10 years old and everyday that he stays at the shelter in a kennel breaks my heart. He wants to be the only pet but you can see how gentle and sweet he is with children and all people. He craves a real home. Please don’t let the rest of his life be here. We are offering lifetime fostering for him to alleviate the financial burden for whoever can take him home for whatever time he has left. He has no medical concerns, but his age must be the reason no one will give him a chance😞

One of our cute poopers is this boy Harpoon!! I have no idea why he’s still here. He’s been in the free roaming room with so many cats and never causes trouble. He has FIV but don’t let that scare you! He’s one of our healthiest cats even when the non FIV cats have had upper respiratory infections. He’s 5 years old. Interested in adopting Harpoon? Second dumped dog in a week
EDIT/UPDATE; pup went into trap and is heading for Vermilion County Animal Shelter. He’s a brindle color and seems sweet, if you’re looking for a young dog go check him out ❤️
This is a reminder that you should not be dumping animals on our property! We are full on animals and dumping them here does not make us intake them.
We’ve had 2 dogs dumped here in a week. Last week’s dog is at county. This one from today is still loose. The dog last week made a hole in our kennel so this dog today got out and is running away from being leashed. If this is your dog, feel free to come get him or her contained and take them to Vermilion County Animal Shelter.
These pens are used for our shelter dogs and we lock them up regularly. Our roof tarp broke and people are throwing the dogs over the top to get them in (so please don’t say they are at least putting them somewhere safe) it’s unacceptable and our staff will now have to try catching this dog in between taking care of our shelter animals.
Posting so no one thinks we have a loose shelter dog or that we are unaware of a loose dog.

We are always looking for fun new ideas to keep our shelter pups entertained and mentally stimulated. We have some heavy chewers that like to devour Kongs so this was a great alternative!
