Our November fundraiser starts today!

We have several dogs undergoing expensive medical treatments and desperately need to replenish our funds.

Thankfully our friends at Karat Patch Jewelers are donating a $500 giftcard to help. ❤️

We are a little behind here BUT happy tails to all of these fur babies. Plus Frankie and 2 kittens that we didn’t snag a picture.

Our Winston is such a caring and considerate boy! He has a pretty amazing foster too. ❤️‍🩹

Our Winston boy had us running around like crazy today. We sent him in to our vet to check out a healing wound on his leg (he had it when he arrived) and the X-ray looked like bone cancer. After 2 vet visits and 1 radiologist review we are happy to report that Winston DOES NOT have cancer. 🙌

He does, however, have a severe bone infection which will require immediate surgery and strong antibiotics for the next few months.

If you applied to adopt Winston he is now on a medical hold.

Please please consider donating towards Winston’s care. October has been a DOOZY.

We now have Marvin (fast kill heartworm treatment), Xena (leg amputation) and Winston all undergoing expensive treatments. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

⚠️ Friendly reminder:

We are powered entirely by volunteers which means everyone working with Sweet Home Animal Rescue has to balance their jobs, families, and the care of their personal animals and foster animals.

We’ve received 1️⃣1️⃣ applications this morning. We do work them in order and we will be in touch. Please do not panic.

We also have a medical emergency with one of our dogs and that will take priority as of right now.

In the rescue world there is rarely only 1 thing happening at a time. As Xena fights for her life and Marvin rest after his fast kill heartworm treatment this little orange guy is also fighting for his life.

We took in his litter of 4 yesterday afternoon & he is the only one that survived the night. His foster is fighting with everything she has.

Please send all positive vibes and prayers towards all of these babies and their fosters. All of these fosters have been up around the clock. ❤️‍🩹❤️❤️‍🩹

We’ve raised enough to cover half of Xena’s surgery. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated and will make a difference. 🙏🙏

FRIDAY UPDATE: Xena is feeling better today. She got up and went outside to go potty last night and this morning. She has also started eating but will only eat wet food. She has a severe case of hookworms but based on her injury and emergency surgery we are waiting to treat them.

UPDATE: Xena is now on her way back to her foster home. The next 3️⃣ days will be critical for her. She is by no means out of the woods. A copy of her current bill can now be found in the pictures.

Here’s what we know now: her injury is most likely not recent & our best guess is that she was caught in a hunting trap.

UPDATE: Wednesday 1:00pm surgery went well they ended up amputating at the hip. She is currently waking up from anesthesia now

Yesterday we were asked to take in this girl who we have named Xena. She came to us with half of a leg with bone exposed. Xena is currently undergoing surgery and we are waiting for an update..

Marvin also received his fast kill heartworm treatment which is going to cost us around $600.
