Feed your Purina foods with no worries

The Food and Drug Administration announced July 31 that no public health concerns are associated with Nestlé Purina Pet Care pet food after completing a review of the products that generated a jump in adverse event reports last year.

7/9/24: Attention, a harmful blue-green algae bloom has been confirmed at Rice Lake within the Danada Forest Preserve. This can make pets, children and people with weak immune systems sick if they ingest or inhale water that has algae present.

• Don’t touch the algae.
• Keep your pets away from the water.
• If contact is made, thoroughly wash your skin (or your pet’s fur) as soon as possible.

Staff will continue to monitor water conditions. Harmful algae blooms can look like spilled blue, green, or brown paint on the surface of the water. Should you observe a potential algae bloom in a DuPage forest preserve, please report the specific location and provide a photo to [email protected].
