Short update on the little runt that I hatched last year. It eats like a pig and acts perfectly normal. Its head still doesn't shed quite right but otherwise it seems perfectly healthy. It's one of the friendliest little creatures I've ever seen and I'm glad I gave it a chance.

Buying bulk boxes of cork tubes can be a real mixed bag.

The last 2 boxes I got were awesome. They were packed with nice 3' long tubes, only a few small pieces and no flats.

This box is absolute crap. It's at least 50% flats and broken pieces when it's supposed to be whole tubes.

I needed large pieces for tree monitor and boa enclosures. I'll try to glue and splice pieces together to make something useful but I'm not sure how well it'll work with what's here.

The more time I spend with tree monitors the more I like them. They're incredibly intelligent and athletic.

I find it funny because greens are the second monitor species I got and I didn't like them at the time. I came close to selling this guy years ago and I'm really glad I didn't!

He still doesn't fully trust me but we're making progress. I've been working with him for over 3 years and I still haven't quite figured him out.

Some breeders don't handle or socialize their babies at all and I don't have a clue how they do it. I could spend half the day with them

Mental stimulation is really important for captive animals. Swap cork tubes between enclosures to give them some new smells
