Home Veterinary Services, HVS for short, was created by Dr. Kimberly Kleinfeld in 2007. Our mission is to provide quality, professional and compassionate care to our area companion animals. Services provided include wellness exams, preventative care, laboratory testing, and in home euthanasia or end of life consultations. Dr Kleinfeld achieved her BA in animal science at U MASS Amherst in 1994 and

graduated from Michigan State Univ School of Medicine in 1998. She worked for a couple small animal practices in western Massachusetts before settling with her family in Dartmouth. Her interest is in geriatric medicine and the human animal bond.

Hey everyone, just wanted to address a rumor going around. Dr. Kleinfeld is not retiring, but she will be cutting back on her workload. We will still be serving our current clients, however, we won't be taking on any new patients except for end-of-life services. Hope you all had a great holiday!

Uh-oh! Sorry this is right before the holidays but there is a new respiratory illness spreading through dogs that we currently do not have a vaccine or even a good treatment protocol for. There has been a high vitality rate and Dr. Kleinfeld recommends keeping your pups at home and away from other dogs as much as humanly possible.

From New Hampshire to Oregon, researchers are trying to figure out what’s causing an infectious respiratory disease among dogs that has turned deadly in rare cases.

HVS thinks everyone needs some humor today. 🙂

FYI!!

Just a heads up that the spring allergies are right around the corner. With the temperatures rising, the pollen count is also going up, so now is the time to stock up on the allergy medicine that you need!! Please remember if you get an over the counter medication that it does not contain pseudoephedrine as this is deadly to your pet. You would find this in products such as Allegra-D, Claritin-D or Zyrtec-D. Please always contact your veterinarian before giving your furry friend any medication.

We hope you have a very safe and Happy Easter!

REMINDER!!

Please keep pets away from Easter Lily’s. They are very poisonous. Please tell your friends also. We don’t want to lose another patient like we did last year. If they ingest them then there is nothing we can do to help them. We can’t stress enough to please keep them away from pets. We hope that everyone has a nice Easter and enjoy your day. ❤️

With summer weather finally here we would like everyone to take extra special care of their pups. The heat and humidity play a major role in their health especially as they age. Cats can also be effected by it too so make sure to keep them comfortable as well. We hope you all have a happy and safe weekend!
