🐾 “I just want something else for my pet…”
You’re not alone. So many of the families we meet come to us saying:

✨ “I don’t want to just mask symptoms with meds.”
✨ “I want more options than just ‘wait and see.’”
✨ “My pet is more than a diagnosis—I want someone who sees that.”

This is exactly why integrative care exists.
At Hello Harmony Vet, we offer gentle, personalized and integrative support using Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and conventional medicine. That includes:

🌿 Acupuncture
🌿 Herbal remedies
🌿 Nutritional support
🌿 Chiropractic care
🌿 Pain management
🌿 End-of-life peace & presence

Because healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. And neither is love. 💛

We see your pet as a whole being—not just a condition to “manage.”

Sweet Pea🐱came to Dr. Rider with chronic hair loss, even after working with her primary care vet. She received a full Western and Eastern Exam and started acupuncture and food therapy (being Miss Picky she was not keen on her herbal medicine). Her hooman stayed the course and Sweet Pea is looking like her beautiful regal 👑 self again!

👉ATTENTION! Apparently there are LOST PET scams victimizing people who have lost a pet. If you have lost a pet and a "vet clinic" calls you to extort money from you to "save" your pet, please do NOT give them your payment information over the phone. Any vet clinic would prefer you come to the office to talk to you, see your pet, etc. If this happens to you, ask for the clinic name, hang up and call them directly 🩷

"Acupuncture for Anxiety—Yes, Really!"

Did you know acupuncture isn’t just for pain? It can also support emotional well-being.

Many of our patients with anxiety, noise sensitivity, or reactivity find calm and comfort through acupuncture and herbal medicine. 🌿

🧠 Acupuncture helps regulate the nervous system by releasing endogenous endorphins, promoting relaxation without sedation.

Gentle and safe. That’s something to wag about. 🐶💆‍♂️

🧧 "What Your Pet’s Tongue Says About Their Health"

In Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), we literally look at the tongue (among other things) to help understand what’s going on inside your pet. 💡

Color, moisture, and shape all give us insight into things like organ imbalances, inflammation, or energy flow.

🐾 Has your pet’s tongue changed recently? It might be trying to tell us something!
Curious? Ask us at your next acupuncture or TCVM visit!

🧠✨ What Is an Acupuncture Point? A Look Through the Lens of Neuroscience 🐾

You’ve seen the tiny needles—and maybe the big results—but what’s really happening at an acupuncture point from a modern medical perspective?

Acupuncture points aren’t just random spots on the body. They’re actually areas with a high concentration of nerve endings, blood vessels, lymphatic tissue, and connective tissue. When we insert a needle into one of these points, we’re tapping into your pet’s nervous system in a very specific way. 🧬

Here’s what happens:
🔹 Nerve signals are sent to the brain and spinal cord
🔹 The body responds by releasing natural pain-relieving chemicals like endorphins, opioids and serotonin
🔹 Blood flow increases in the area, promoting healing and reducing inflammation
🔹 Muscles relax and tension decreases
🔹 The immune system gets a gentle nudge to function more efficiently

💡 In short: acupuncture helps “reset” your pet’s nervous system, encouraging the body to restore balance, reduce pain, and support healing—without relying solely on medications.

Whether your pet is recovering from injury, managing chronic arthritis, or just not quite themselves, acupuncture can be a powerful and scientifically backed tool to support their health. 🐕🐈‍⬛

This is Willie!!! I am so mad at myself for not taking video of his first appointment😡. When I first met Willie, he had been paralyzed in his front limbs for a full week. He couldn't stand, support himself or walk with his front limbs. Immediately after the 1st session he could support himself on his front limbs and take 1-2 steps before falling. When he showed for his second session 1 week later, he could walk 🤯 (albeit with a funny drunken gait). This is after 3 sessions. With the help of his human's care at home, he's doing so well! 🥹🐾

Considering euthanasia is an emotional, complex and difficult task. There is no simple answer as we all want our pets to live their best life as long as possible. Here are just a few things to consider.

Mythical unicorn cat 🦄🐱? Nope! Just conditioned to love the carrier ❤
Here are ways you can get your cat to love the carrier for smoother vet visits:
1) place carrier in an easily accessible place like the living room. Place a comfy blanket and some kitty treats. Leave the door open
2) feed cat in it's carrier
3) when kitty is comfortable, close the door, but allow them to leave when they want. Work up to closing the door fully for 1-3 minutes, and increasing the time
4) once they feel comfortable with the door closed, lift the carrier and set it down. Just one. Work up to longer intervals of being carried.

We had to say goodbye to one of our own 😢. Dottie came to us from an elderly friend who had to leave her home to be with family for medical care. We were so blessed to have this little feisty soul at our farmette. Dottie was at our side everday doing chores, helping garden and keeping the 100 lbs Pyrenees girls in their place. She was the best mouser and smartest cat I ever met. She will be greatly missed. ❤🐾🌈

Say hello to Felix, the very handsome French Brittany. He was having pretty bad neck pain. He was on good meds but just wasn't recovering fully. His wonderful full service vet referred him for some spinal manipulation (animal chiropractic care) to see if that would help. After two sessions and some physical therapy at home with his devoted human, he's back to his ol' self. 🎊🎉

Last Gift of Love

I have performed many euthanasias in my career. It has always been an honor to provide a good death, a humane death and to be able to give that last gift of love on a pet care-giver’s behalf. I have always done euthanasias in the hospital. But one experience changed my life and how I want to proceed giving that gift.

The clients came in with their amazing pit mix. He had been with his person on a long journey, helping her through an abusive relationship and nasty divorce. That blocky beautiful face was there for her new marriage to a loving husband and for the birth of their child. She and I sat on the floor of the hospital room, talking. Red was tired; the cancer had made him a shell of the dog he was. We put him on some great medicine the previous week, and bought him quality time with the family. But it was time, they decided. He wagged his tail, looking lovingly at his mom.

Then the husband said to me, “You know, he just loves truck rides. He was so excited on the drive over here…” He paused and choked up before he squeaked out, “I was thinking, well wondering…can we do this with him in the truck? He would be so happy…” the big burly husband’s voice cracked and a tear slid down his stubbled cheek.

I paused for a millisecond and said, “Yes! Yes, let’s have him in the truck where he would be happiest.” We got Red in the bed of the truck on his favorite blanket. The weather was beautiful that late afternoon. He lifted his head, looking as proud as can be laying in that truck bed. Then both husband and wife hugged him. He gently placed his head in her lap and crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
