My name is Bubby. My mommy and I help rescue other cats and dogs. And I am the King of the Castle. Here is it all the story of my family. Ok so here it goes.

Please bear with me it is rather long. I am a 15 year old blue seal point and my name is Bubby. The way my mommy found me was she went to a local pet store that was getting ready to close down and me and all the animals had to find homes quickly or a lot of us were going to be either be put in a shelter or worse, I dare not speak of that. Well anyway my mommy was walking around and looking for a n

ew companion for her smaller human who had a birthday coming up. I guess he had been asking for a kitten for a while. While she was looking at all the animals she came upon my cage where me and 4 of my siblings were. I was sitting at the top of the cage making me mew mew sounds and when I saw her I stopped and instantly ran to the window. I was very intrigued by her and it seemed she was by me as well. Mommy says she has never seen a kitty that looked like me other than in pictures. It was love at first sight. She decided I was the ONE, the one who would get to go home with her and meet my new human brother. When mommy and I got home she had put me down to explore, but there was no one else there except for Mama's my older sister(RIP). I was a little confused because I thought I was getting a new human brother not a tortie cat. I spent the next few hours getting to know Mama's and I learned that she was a rescue kitty from a shelter that was being shut down due to bad practices and over crowding. As we were talking and learning about each other I herd the door open and another new voice. I was curious and ran around the corner and there he was MY new human brother, the one my mommy told me about. At first he didn't notice me so I had to mew at him to get him to look down. When he saw me his face lit up like the sun. He squealed which kind of scared me but I didn't run. He looked to mommy and said for me? Is he mine? And mommy smiled and said yes he is yours Happy Birthday. We were instant friends. Now I would like to tell you a little bit about my humans as it is important for you to know a little about them and how my family works. I will start with my mommy. She has a lot of health issues. When she was 18 she had become very ill with both strands of meningitis and wasn't expected to live through the week.. Mommy's life and career changed overnight with being sick. she could no longer be a hair dresser so instead she began working to rescue and save as many cats and dogs as possible. And begun building her life long dream of an animal sanctuary and rescue. it's taken about 28 years and a lot of heart break to get to where we are today along with over 200 animals saved all from mommy's personal pocket and heart. Mommy says this is a life long commitment and is super excited to see where we go with everything as we expand and grow. we want to make sure no animal is ever left behind. Please send out prayers to our friend The Oreo Cat

Hi everyone,
If you joined us on last evening’s stream, you will have heard the news. Yesterday, I found out that Oreo has cancer in his GI tract. We went in to the vet because he hadn't pooped and threw up again pretty violently. Before heading to the vet, he made a huge stink, so when I got there I let the vet know. She palpated him and said that she still felt something in his abdomen so she decided to do an ultrasound. The ultrasound shows that he has a very large mass in his abdomen. This is what's making him sick. Many different solutions were laid on the table including palliative care with steroids or chemotherapy. The latter requiring us to see an oncologist first.

The type of cancer Oreo has is an aggressive one, which means it's fast growing. The reality of the situation is that Oreo may not have much time. We can do what we can to extend it but in order to do that, his quality of life may deteriorate dependant on the aggressivity of the treatments. It's equally possible that he may be a good candidate and treatment might be a great option. To know this, we need to see the oncologist.

I've taken an appointment with one in a week's time. It was the earliest I could get. I will have to go into Montreal for the appointment. I was told Oreo can't eat for 12 hours before the appointment as well. Pook kid. I decided to do this just to put my own mind at ease and see what cards are on the table. Depending of the oncologists outlook, I will decide what's best for him at that time.

Once again, I sincerely appreciate everyone's kind words, thoughts and prayers. I spent another $900 yesterday and if we decide to go with treatment we will be looking at thousands more. I was suggested to go directly to emergency services in Montreal as the delay time may be faster from start to finish in getting the information, however, I don't think Oreo would appreciate that. He has been through a lot in the past three weeks and I don't want to bring him to an emergency room to sit there all day and possibly have to stay there for days getting tests done. I don't know how long he has and I want him to be with us right now. He has some medicine to help with nausea as well as an appetite stimulant which we tried this morning and will soon see what results it gives.

This is all very difficult for me to process and I am doing my best. Rest assured, I will do whatever I feel is best for Oreo in the end.

Just 3 wonderful minutes of Bubby playing like he was young again. These days are far and few between now. He rather be curled up sleeping somewhere or just laying with mommy for cuddles. *Don't come for me for what he's playing with. He actively stalked and grabbed it from where it was placed. He was perfectly fine and safe under my supervision and no fires were started lol 😂

We are looking for alternative suggestions to wet cat food. Specially for Bubby. Unfortunately we just don't have it in our current budget to get any. We have tried mixing the dry with a bit of water or even broth however they won't touch either. Smart little stinkers. So any suggestions would be a huge help. And they need to be cost effective please and thank you.
