Penelope, a 14-week-old Cavapoo, had a rough start after coming home. Feeling weak and tired, she was rushed to St. Charles Veterinary Hospital, where she was treated for Low Blood Sugar and Giardia (intestinal parasite).

With swift action from her parents, comprehensive medical treatment, and lots of TLC from our team, she made a full recovery!Now, she’s back to being her spunky, playful self—earning the nickname “little piranha” from her parents. 🐶💜

Ingesting rodenticide can cause serious health issues like bleeding, kidney failure, seizures—or worse. 😔

The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center has your back with essential info to protect your furry friends:

🔍 Always store rodenticides securely, out of paws’ reach.
❄️ Winter months often mean more rodenticide use—double-check your home for hazards!
📦 If your pet ingests rodenticide, bring the packaging to your vet for quicker treatment.
