Today is National Insurance Awareness Day! While it might not sound as exciting as National Ice Cream Day, this reminder could make all the difference when unexpected pet emergencies arise! 🏥

As your dedicated veterinary team, we've seen firsthand how pet insurance helps families focus on their pet's health rather than the cost of care during stressful times. Pet insurance can provide peace of mind when facing unexpected diagnostics, emergency surgeries, or treatments for chronic conditions.

💡 Today’s the perfect time to check if your pet is protected or explore your options.

Let’s talk doggy dental care! If your pup’s breath has been a little… ruff lately, you might be wondering—are dental chews really enough, or should you be brushing those canine canines?

✅ Dental chews are great for reducing plaque and keeping your dog entertained. They help scrape away buildup and can freshen breath.

🪥 But brushing is still the gold standard! Nothing beats a toothbrush when it comes to removing plaque at the gumline and preventing periodontal disease.

Dental chews can be a helpful ADDITION to your pet's oral care routine—especially for those days when your dog suddenly becomes an Olympic wrestler during brushing attempts! 😂

The winning combo? Regular brushing (aim for at least 2-3 times weekly with pet-specific toothpaste) PLUS high-quality dental chews as a supplement.

🚨 Allergy season is here, but did you know? Those pills bringing YOU relief could spell danger for your furry family members!

While you're battling sneezes and watery eyes, our pets face serious risks if they access common allergy medications. According to the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center, even regular antihistamines can cause lethargy, upset tummies, and unsteady walking in pets who ingest large doses.

⚠️ The bigger threats? Decongestants like pseudoephedrine can trigger agitation, elevated heart rates, and even seizures in pets. And don't forget about those cough drops with xylitol—this sweetener can cause life-threatening liver damage in dogs!

If you suspect your pet has ingested something toxic, call your vet or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center's 24-hour hotline: (888) 426-4435

We’re excited to officially welcome Dr. Rose Mangiamarchi to our General Practice team!

Dr. Mangiamarchi has been a valued part of our Emergency Team, where she’s provided compassionate and skilled care to our patients. Now, we’re thrilled to have her transition into General Practice, where she’ll continue building lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

Originally from Venezuela, Dr. Rose earned her Bachelor’s in Biology from Florida International University before completing her veterinary degree at the University of Florida. She holds certifications in Shelter Medicine, Business Management, and Mixed Animal Veterinary Acupuncture through Chi University. She is especially passionate about integrative medicine, surgery, and making veterinary care more inclusive and accessible.

Her dedication has also taken her abroad on mission trips to Honduras and Ecuador, providing free care and surgical services to animals in underserved communities.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in nature with her family, friends, and her beloved three-legged dog, Athena.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Mangiamarchi!

Flowers and houseplants brighten our homes—but some could pose serious dangers to curious furry friends. Did you know lilies are highly toxic to cats, causing kidney failure even in tiny amounts? And those beautiful sago palms? They’re extremely dangerous for both cats and dogs, potentially causing liver damage and seizures.

⚠️ Always double-check your plants to keep pets safe and happy at home! Suspect your pet ate something dangerous? Call your vet or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center’s 24-hour hotline at (888) 426-4435 immediately.

That tiny rice-sized chip makes a HUGE difference when it comes to bringing lost pets home! Microchipped pets are over 20x more likely to find their way back to their families compared to those without chips.

Just imagine: your curious cat slips out the door or your adventurous pup digs under the fence. With a microchip, any shelter or vet can scan them and have your contact info in seconds! It's a quick, one-time procedure that lasts a lifetime of protection.

Drop a "❤️" in the comments if your pets are chipped or a "🐾" if you're planning to get it done soon!
