We love The AmericanK9 Dog Ranch so much, we decided we wanted to share our piece of doggy paradise with everyone else too!

For those who don’t know, Sniffspot is a dog-friendly app that allows families and their fur babies to rent safe, dog exercise properties in the community. This is ideal for people who just want some quality time with their pups, people who don’t like dog parks (with multiple other dogs), or have reactive and/or aggressive dogs. We’ve even had some rent our field for puppy parties!

If you’re at our SniffSpot, and you hear a few knocks on the windows, it’s most likely this little guy. He’s now tall enough to see out of the windows and LOVES watching our guests with their dogs! He gets so excited, that he’ll start knocking on the windows yelling, “Ohhh” and “Ahhh”. 🥰😊 This little boy just loves dogs!

American K9 is teaming up with Thrive Sports & Spine, Whoof on the Wharf, and Maxed Out Fitness to host the 1st Annual Wolfe Pack Memorial Walk at the American K9 Dog Ranch! Come with a dog, or come without, this 1-mile memorial walk in honor of Dr. Wolfe will take you all through American K9’s scenic pastures, through the woods alongside a beautiful creek, across a wooden bridge to finish with the perfect combination of sun and shade for you and/or your pup(s)! All pack walks will be led by one of American K9’s certified dog trainers to ensure the safety and well-being of all participating humans and dogs!

Let's talk about this photo. It's cute, except it's not. I see a dog who cannot get up without telling the child to get off. How do you think a dog is going to do that?

The 7 Golden Toddler Dog Rules:
#1: If a dog walks away from you, you DO NOT FOLLOW.
#2: Always leave room for the dog to walk away from you.
---that right there is 90+% of dog bites eliminated---
#3: We do not climb on the dog.
#4: We do not grab or pull on the dog.
#5: We do not hit or throw anything at the dog.
#6: We do not touch the dog's food.
#7: We do not go into the dog's kennel.

I promise these are not overly difficult concepts for littles, nor will they rob a kid of their bond with the family dog. It will deepen that bond, while keeping everyone safe.

"Oh, it looks like Moose is walking away from you. She is saying she wants a break. Let's play with this instead!"

"It's Moose's dinner time! Let's give her space to enjoy her yummies."

"That is Moose's room(kennel) and only she is allowed to go in there."

"If Moose wanted a break, could she walk away from you right now? No she really couldn't. Let's move away from the play house. You can keep playing but now she can leave when she wants a break."

In conclusion, ***parent your child or your dog will do it for you, and you will not like how they do it.***

Can you spot the new visitor we had at the ranch today? 😅🐍 Made Trainer Natalie’s heart ssssskip a beat. 🤭

Luckily, it’s only a Northern Water Snake (Common Water Snake) and it’s NOT venomous! Not our favorite visitor, but could be worse, right? 😅

🚨🚧 THE POND IS CLOSED TEMPORARILY 🚧🚨

All guests, the ranch pond is CLOSED for swimming (humans and dogs 😉) for one (1) week! Our pond was treated for any potential harmful algae today as a preventative and will need one week to settle in and become safe again for dogs to swim!

✳️ The pond will reopen on June 14th ✳️
