I have room in my schedule for lessons at my farm or yours! 25 years experience working with all level riders up to 4th level dressage! I love helping riders better understand their horse through classical dressage techniques and rider biomechanics! That doesn’t necessarily mean you need to ride in a dressage saddle, I’ve had students that barrel race, ride saddle seat, jumping and trail!

I do not currently have school horses available.

45 minute lesson $65 can be undersaddle, ground work, lunging or long lining (or a combination). Trip charge might be applied for some areas. No extra charge for haul ins.

Lease opportunities in Davis Junction IL

This year I will be partial leasing 3 of my horses, lease I includes 2-3 days of horse time a week. Lessons are billed separately, each horse has a minimum requirement for monthly lessons. Leasing a great opportunity to enjoy horse ownership without the financial liability of buying and caring for a horse.

Shelby is a TWH, he’s upper teens extremely sweet and in your pocket. He loves to be brushed and loved on! Shelby is gaited and requires some knowledge on how to ride as he’s neck reined with a hackamore. He was previously a mounted police, polo cross, trail horse, and I’d consider him as close to bombproof as they come! If you are looking for a horse that is comfortable to ride for a relaxing trail ride he’s your guy! We do have a path around the property, a large pasture (as long as no horses are turned out) and arena for riding. He requires a minimum of 2 lessons a month.

Devin is a mid teens ottb, he’s been a school horse for 10 years and is looking for a easier job these days. Devin is safe to ride but is limited in what he can do and is only sound for walk trot. He love’s attention and will stand for hours to be brushed, loves baths and hand grazing. He requires a rider that can post the trot and has a 2 lesson minimum.

Sadie is 20 year old appendix. She is trained to 3rd level dressage and has quite a few “buttons”. She is very safe, friendly, and super lovable! She requires a rider that can W/T/C and someone who is interested in learning dressage or western dressage. I’ll be a bit more picky on the rider for this horse! She has a 4 monthly lesson minimum.

Lease options are $250 a month that includes 2-3 days with your horse, use of all tack and facilities. We are a outdoor facility only, no indoor arena. Lessons are $65 for 45 minute private lesson. Please PM with inquiries.

SOLD 2009 Schleese HK Heike Kemmer dressage saddle. 17.5 marked SR, I would consider this to be a medium to medium wide. It fit my school horses well and they are ottbs and Qh. Kept clean, conditioned and covered. Nice deep seat with a narrow twist and the knee rolls are new from Schleese this year. Billets have been replaced recently as well. $1200 with wiggle room for a quick sale.

Marked 34” dressage leathers. Some normal wear $30

3 micklem bridles. The black bridles are horse size I believe $75 each the brown is a cob school bridle $50

Collegiate youth hunt saddle. Older but still in working condition. Minor damage to left knee flat is only cosmetic. School saddle condition. $125

SOLD Beginner safe lesson horse type* Holly is a 18 year old QH mare, standing 14.3 she is a easy keeper and barefoot. Lives outside 24/7 on forage and a mineral. Not the low man but also not a bully in the paddock. She’s a barn favorite! If you need a horse for your 3 year old grandkid coming off the lunge line or your students first canter or cross rail, she’s your girl! Absolutely no bad behavior undersaddle! On the ground she is sweet and patient, holds her hooves up to be picked and stands while being groomed and loved on. The only bad thing I’ve noticed is if you cinch her up too quick she’ll bite the air, a good teaching point for students to go slowly! She is sound for lessons but due to an old injury I wouldn’t say she’s sound for showing. Injury left hind, doesn’t cause her pain or discomfort, it’s just tight sometimes in the hamstring and that leg can be short strided. Gets better with constant work and I’ve done magnawave too which helps. Still canters both leads. She’s done the barrel pattern and ridden western, her gaits are more suited for that. She can jump little cross rails, English dressage trail. 2,5 🥕 🥕 looking for the best home. Serious inquiries only please. Located Davis Junction IL

I have a rare Sunday opening at 2pm! Available for a new student or current!

Also a quick reminder, please make sure students are dressed appropriately for lessons. Breeches or leggings, please no jeans (unless riding western). Paddock boots with or without chaps, no gym shoes or dress boots with the zippers on the inside that will scratch the saddle. Helmet and riding gloves. I have helmets to borrow but I encourage riders to invest in their own equipment. Clothing designed for riding like full seat breeches and half chaps help the rider with balance in the saddle, well fitting gloves are also important when achieving connection with the reins. Online equestrian stores like dover and state line tack are great choices, also Amazon. Any questions please feel free to ask.

Selling all my jumping school saddles and girths! I have many girths in all sizes, 1 large hunt and one small collegiate hunt. I also have random barn items (blanket, boots, etc.) I’ll be listing everything tomorrow!

Brooke and Fred learning baby steps to a future half pass! 💙🐎💃🏻 Nice riding Brooke!!

All Alchemy riders ride ex-racehorses because 75% of my string of school horses are ottbs! However, if you work with me consistently and want to learn how to transition them off the track you may be lucky enough to ride one of my young projects! Brooke had a super ride on Fredrick today. He already worked on the long lines, and she lessoned on Yankee, so we kept it short and sweet but he was a super star. Only his 3rd ride back after almost 7 months off! We focused on soft transitional aids from the rider to see how he would “listen” and start to respond. Well done Fredrick and Brooke! ❤️🐎

This is a oldie but a goodie! Wyatt in the earlier stages of jumping. He’s such a talent, a true diamond in the rough! Going through my videos to showcase some of my training here on FB! I teach all levels of riders and horses, specializing in dressage, jumping, and transitioning ottbs into sport horse jobs. However, I work with all breeds and disciplines. My goal is to help a rider better understand how to communicate with their horse no matter what prior experience they may have had. Dressage lesson Val with Liam! Can your ottb stretchyyyyy trot?

Hey ottb fans! Show some love for this adorable war horse!! Proud Jackson 2009 by proud citizen. 76 starts and retired in December! Jackson came to me in February of this year and has been a wonderful horse to work with. He is fun to ride, quiet, and has a puppy dog personality! He carries students around like it's his job and I just get a kick out of his floppy ears! Jacksons first show yesterday and scored wonderfully in the mid 60's and a 76% in intro with a 9 in this halt! Can't wait to see what's to come! We love having Jackson part of the alchemy team!

Check out my rider lily on Jackson kicking the ball around! ⚽️ after a few days off he had his shoes reset and is back to work! I pride myself in superb care for my horses! Their diet consists of the best hay/pasture available and grains to suit their needs. For my horses on a lighter routine I give a huber feed and the horses in work get Nutrena proforce! Routine hoof care by Bare Hoof Natural Hoof Care Lisa Habbley for trims on the barefoot horses and Archie Linn is my farrier for the ones who require shoes. Regular dential care by Chenoweth Equine Dentistry and now starting a chiropractic check up for these guys! I am however looking at equine vet options for where my horses are currently located in stillman valley, recommendations? These guys are living the life! And get to have kids and adults loving on them daily! What could be better?

Our Saturday schooling ride at the horse park! I decided to keep Colburn! There is an opportunity to sell horses at the RRP, but I really want to further my riding and start going for my USDF bronze. Colburn he has the talent!! But I also want to bring another to the makeover next year. Decisions decisions! I'm looking into how to make this work! Keeping my lesson business going is costly as well, but getting more experience retraining horses and marketing sport horses is another part of my business I'd like to develop! If anyone is looking for an ottb or would like to invest in one for their own or to resell please let me know. I'd love to work with someone and offer my training services to get me back to Kentucky next October! Let's talk! 😊

Sofi learning how to trot poles today!! So excited about this pair! Wyatt is cool as always and sofi just keeps getting stronger and stronger. Hope to see them doing the IDCTA mini-events next summer!!

The second day of camp is about to start! Yesterday campers got to watch a short jumping lesson during lunch! I asked "who wants to jump some day" and 8 hands went up without hesitation! Lol! Next camp June 28th-30th is open to beginner and advanced riders and will have a jumping theme! Even beginners will learn basics on position and walk poles. Advanced will trot poles and possibly try small X's. Spots are still open for this camp! $165 for 3 days!
