From the PPCR Board of Directors

Another year has come to pass and we ended 2024 adopting out 173 cats and kittens. Considering the continuing changes and issues we encountered, we did well! First and foremost, we, the PPCR Board of Directors, want to express our heartfelt gratitude to every single donor, volunteer, foster, and general supporter throughout our entire community. Your time, compassion and support, allows us to care for these cats and kittens, find them homes, and save lives!

So what’s happening? Our last few years show that amid surging inflation and rising economic concerns, more pets are being given up, abandoned and in turn our actual adoptions have been dropping each year since 2020. We get it! When people struggle to afford basic necessities due to inflation, they may be forced to surrender their pets to rescues, leading to an overflow of cats in the rescue world. With economic hardship, fewer people are able to adopt pets, causing a backlog of cats waiting for homes. Inflation also impacts the cost of food, veterinary care, and other necessities for the owner and the rescue organizations, putting further strain on everyone.

As we move forward into 2025 we want to reiterate that the heart of our mission has always been a deep and abiding love for every cat and kitten we rescue. We are dedicated to finding warm, compassionate forever homes where they can not only survive, but thrive—places filled with love and understanding. Our goal is to ensure that each adoption blossoms into a joyful and lasting bond, bringing happiness to both the adopter and their new feline companion.

In closing, every cat deserves a second chance—a chance to experience care, patience, and the warmth of a family. This is what drives us every day, but we can't do it alone. Because of you, we can provide love, hope, and the promise of a brighter future to cats in need. Together, we are changing lives, creating second chances, and making miracles happen—one precious life at a time. We greatly appreciate each and every one of you and you are an essential part of our rescue family and our journey.

Little Tiger ***Adopted***Adopted***

Jessica came down from San Francisco to meet her new kitty Little Tiger. This gorgeous Ragdoll looked quite a lot like her last oh so loved kitty, Sabrina, which is why I sent Jessica her photos. Tiger was shy and up in her loft out of reach and then she became curious and let Jessica pet her. Jessica said "I am drawn to the shy ones" and home she went. Jessica works from home and Little Tiger will have lots of time to enjoy getting all of her attention.

Cindy Lou Who is Adoption Pending.

Cheddar ***Adopted***Adopted***

Because Cheddar is a little nervous around new people, Caroline and Chris did a virtual meet and greet with me before coming to meet Cheddar in person and they LOVED how cuddly he was with me. They said they knew it might take him a while to be that way with them...but they were willing to be patient and give him all the time and space he needed to trust them. Caroline reports that after only one day, this kitten, who loves to be held, is already purring when they pick him up. Caroline and Chris are the perfect new mom and dad for Cheddar!

Carl has been with us since January of 2024! He was a hot mess when he came in. The last thing we need to do is get him a much needed dental! The estimated cost (assuming no extractions) will be ~$500.

Maggie (L) & Star ***Adopted***Adopted***

Dana and her sister drove all the way up from the San Luis Obispo area to bring these two Ragdoll best friends home with them. They brought a huge canvas dog crate so the two could travel together in comfort. These two lovebugs will help heal Dana's heart which is still sad from the loss of her last treasured pet. Happy new beginning for them all. Wishing them years and years of health and happiness together.

I AM BACK! Unfortunately, I wasn't gone for long.
I was adopted by a wonderful family that loved me so much but the cat they already had wasn't happy about me moving in. She was mean to me and jumped on me and said mean words to me. Then she started being mean to the family too! I was really scared of her because I am just a little baby and I like everyone. I just wanted to be friends with her. So here I am back where it all started and my siblings have found their forever homes and I'm all alone now. If you would like to be my forever family, I hope you have another kitty I can play with who won't be mean to me. My foster mommy could provide a nice friend for me if you would like a pair.

Well, it is a safe guess that you have never seen a pair of Scottish Fold sisters like these two. They are so special. I couldn't believe my eyes when a breeder brusquely dropped them in my carrier in a MacDonald's parking lot. Sylvie was 4.6 pounds. Tiny! and her sister, Ginger, wasn't that much bigger. Sylvie is now 6 pounds and Ginger, just a little over 7.

I have had them in foster now for four months. They needed time to unfold and learn to enjoy attention. They didn't have names. They hadn't had much of anything. Ginger's coat had been chopped down with scissors and needed to grow in. Vulnerable little unhappy babies, they needed to learn what it was like to be loved. Treasured is the word I like to use.

So, I am looking for a home that can offer stability, quiet, safety, probably no other pets or maybe very quiet, non-dominant ones, no young children. These are not kitties for someone with an out of the house work schedule. Can you put them in the center of your home and heart?

Cats are so resilient. These kitties hid, relaxed a little, peeked out of their hiding place, gained some weight, looked out a window, and finally became grateful little kitties loving our kindness and attention. They are part Persian with their flat faces and super long hair. For Persians, love from their humans is the breath of life. They are vulnerable little beings who are dependent on love and must be protected and pampered.

Tammy and her two adorable little girls came from Santa Rosa to adopt Betty Lou Who and Max. The kittens loved the little girls. Wonderful family, these kittens are very lucky.

This great cat experienced and cat loving couple came to meet another kitty who was adorable but then I said just for fun come see a Ragdoll and see what their wonderful fur feels like. Molly immediately grabbed their hearts. To touch her was to want her. Her coat was sooo soft and lush. Then she stuck her little pink tongue out in pleasure when Tina scritched at the base of her tail and it was a done deal. The other kitty was forgotten and Molly went home in style to live with two other cats and a toy 11 yr old cattle dog.Taken by surprise, as her foster mom I wasn't quite ready to see her go. She was a great favorite with her s***k and marvelous dramatic looks with dark and light coloring and bright white feet. And the bluest eyes in the world. It is hard to let these treasures - all my foster kitties - go. May they all live happily together, forever.

Meet Addison, also known as Wolfy! Addison is a rare Lyoki with a heart of gold. He's the kind of cat who greets you at the door with a warm "hello" and will happily have sweet small chats with you throughout the day. Whether it's chasing wand toys, staring out the window, or curling up with a favorite human for his afternoon nap, Addison always brings a sense of joy and comfort. One thing's for sure: if he hears the bells on a wand toy, he'll come running in no time!

This playful and curious kitty enjoys both wet and dry food—he's a big eater! His one little bad habit? He's a professional food beggar, so don't be surprised if he tries to charm you out of your lunch.

Big and Beautiful. That's what Ragdolls are. Maggie and Star are from the same Pedigreed Ragdoll Cattery as the cats Ragmop, Minnie, Blue Bear, Rory, Winnie and Lassi on our adopted cat’s page. The cattery's owner asked us to help find homes for some of her cats. These cats are treasures.

Maggie and Star are best friends. Their photos show how they like to nuzzle be close to each other. We wanted to be sure they live together in their new home. Both are quite large kitties and both are "white mitted" which is to say they have white feet.

Star was named for the little white blaze between her eyes, her coloring is a light brown called "Blue" in show circles. Maggie is a high drama kitty with dark seal legs, ears, tail and face setting off her creamy body. Both kitties have very full and lush ruffs around their necks and great plumes for tails.

Yes, these kitties have lots of "floof" -fluffy hair- but fear not, unlike other long haired kitties Ragdoll hair is remarkably easy to care for.
