Looking for something fun do do on Saturday June 20? Join us for our UC Davis Horse Barn Sale Showcase and Open House! Whether you're in the market for a horse or mule, or just want to enjoy an evening with the family, the Horse Barn is the place to be! Doors open at 4:30PM, you can stop by to grab a complimentary beverage and purchase a delicious steak dinner cooked up by the UC Davis Meat Lab. Then, head over to play some corn hole on the lawn and tour the historic Horse Barn. Next, stop by the sale pens to chat with our production interns about the animals up for bid this year. We can also help interested bidders get signed up to bid at our information booth, so stop by if you have questions! Beginning at 6:00PM, each intern will work show off everything that their horse or mule has learned in preparation for the Annual Production Sale and you'll have the chance to see all the sale prospects in action! The UC Davis Horse Barn 33rd Annual Production Sale is just a week and a half away! All bidding will take place online through SmartAuctions so that you can bid from anywhere! Our bidding site is now live so you can register to bid, view more bidding information, and get more familiar with the website prior to the big day. Congratulations to all of our UC Davis graduating seniors who are celebrating next weekend! (We just have to survive finals first!) We can't wait to see our sale yearlings graduate from our program and go off to their next adventure in just a couple of weeks. It's a bittersweet time at the Horse Barn this time of year as we bid farewell to so many two-legged and four-legged friends! We are so proud of all of you!

This darling little molly mule didn't want to miss out on the fun! While most of the Horse Barn crew was away representing UC Davis at Bishop Mule Days, our mare Secret Wind decided it was time to have her mule, Sage. She is a thoroughbred molly by our jack, UCD Actions Protege, and is our last foal of the year!

Remember that you can meet all of these young ones at our Sale Showcase and Open House coming up on June 20! Although the foals born this year will not be the ones in the sale ring, you will still have the chance to visit with them and get a sneak peek at who will be for sale June 2027!

The Horse Barn has been representing UC Davis at Bishop Mule Days this week, and we’ll be bringing home the ribbons! Our mules placed 1st and 2nd in the Yearling Mule Halter class, and we have two UC Davis teams competing in the Intercollegiate Packing competitions which will wrap up this afternoon. These mules will be for sale in our Annual Production Sale on June 20-21, so here’s your chance to take home a winner! Visit our website for more information on these sale mules.
